"It is not that corruption is not found in western societies but it always comes as a shock because it does not meet with social approval." Meghanand Desai in IE, p 9, dt.15th July'12. Desai has brought out in the write-up that corrupt practices have become a part of life in India. Rule of life is the rule of law. We have to give a serious thought to rectify this state of affairs and change the mindset.

In the above context, the change in the administration of justice is likely to be slow. Ethics in public life is missing. The politician is interested in remaining in power.The bureaucrat is also similarly poised. Only a small section thinks for the common man. There are few like Justice SB Sinha who are doing pioneering work in the field of ADRs. ( Alternative dispute disposal resolutions ). Let us not lose hope. I can write to you with confidence that things are much better now than what they were a decade back. It has been possible due to a proactive judiciary, media and general awareness of the people."
