First Monday puja of  the month of Aswin was performed today. Venita asked me to look up the flowery decorations which she did with the help of other devotees in the temple. Good decorations.
31st
Drove to VV along with Venita. In the Supreme court in the afternoon.

28 and 29th July.

28th (Saturday)
Came to Vikaspuri after over a month. The house is maintained well by the old maid and Shiva Mohan who spent three/four days of the first week of the month here on way back to Fatehpur.
Could not watch Century's longest lunar eclipse : Blood moon which happened at about 11.45 pm to about 1.15 am of 27 and 28th July respectively. We were all asleep.
We could not discuss installation of lift in our block as one important resident could not attend due to sudden death of his elder brother. We will discuss it now next week.
29th (Sunday)
Venita went to participate in 'Vishnu Sahastranam' recitation in a nearby society. Joined in 'langar' there at the end of recitation and puja. Spent good time in repairs of old gadgets.

In the Supreme court in the afternoon. Met SP Sinha,retired police officer who was NIA chief and a member o NHRC. He wishes to start a consultancy in investigation and connected matters. He said he would send his biodata. He worked in CBI when I too worked there,

In the Supreme court in the afternoon.
Met Sharad Gupta a retired IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre. He had retired as Secretary to govt of India few years back. His son wished to meet Babloo to discuss possibility of empanelment as a lawyer/advisor in WASP on environmental matters.

In the Supreme court in the afternoon.
Drove to Vikaspuri for 2/3 day stay. I will be back at VV on Monday and Venita on Tuesday after Puja of the first Monday of the month of Aswin. Full moon eclipse will take place tonight when earth will be between Moon and sun.

Had little sleep in the night. Visited Safdarjung hospital. Did not go to court today. Advocate Atiar Dey and his father, Bijon dey, ex-DGP Meghalaya, could not come for dinner as they had to leave for Shillong early.

19,20 and 21st July

19th
Arrived Delhi at about 9 am after about 9 hour air journey between London-Dubai-Delhi.by Emirates. There was a stop-over of about one hour at Dubai. We travelled by Boeing777-380 from London to Dubai.
We took rest for the day and slept off to get over the jet-lag.
20th
In the Supreme court in the afternoon.
21st
Went to Safdarjung hospital for eye test to get new specks. One of my two specks had fallen down while I was travelling in tube from Notting hill gate station to Shephard Bruce at the time of change over from District line to Central line. One has to travel about 120 feet deep down and up in escalators to reach the Central line. The fall of specks took place while I looked back standing on very fast moving escalator to listen to Venita who wanted me to stand on right side instead of left. I  almost lost balance but somehow collected myself. A big accident was averted.

16,17 and 18th July

16th
It was quite warm during the day. In the evening it was cool. Ruchi had gone to Switzerland yesterday to attend corporate meetings today and next day. May return day after.
17th
It was cloudy and cool today. Packed for journey back to Delhi after a stay of over 20 days with our son and family. Wimbledon matches ended on 15th July. 3rd 0DI between India and England was played today at Headingley. India lost it,so also the ODI series. India had won T20 series earlier. Now they have to play test series. First test begins from 1 to 5th August.
Venita took me to South side for shopping. After a cup of tea/snacks at Sainsbury café, we returned home.
Ruchi returned from Switzerland.

14 and 15th July

14th

We witnessed 2nd ODI between England and India at Lord's today. India did not play an aggressive game. They were quite slow in their reactions to English bowling. Could not understand their constraints.

Djokovic and Anderson will play Men's single finals on Sunday the 15th. Kerber won Women's' single finals defeating  Serena Williams.

Visited Shri Harbans Singh Shrikant  at his residence : 27 Walled Garden court Bentley Priory Stanmore HA7 3GE,UK. His telephone no.is : 00 44 7941668055 and 0208-950-2183. Venita gave a copy of her father's book on 'Guru Nanak' to him. He is a successful Sikh businessman, based in UK, known to us through Shri KTS Tulsi,Senior Advocate.
Djokovik won Men's singles.
Victory of France in FIFA 2018 after  20 years was celebrated all over France in a grand way. We could see the same on TV here. PM Modi congratulated France on the occasion as also Crotia for their good performance in the game.

We had a lively discussion on 'Dr. Jekyll and Hyde'. Abhishree narrated the story explicitely; no one else could do it.
Neha/Akshat came. We had lunch together.
Anderson moved into Wimbledon Men's Tennis finals. Nadal and Djokovich match remained undecided. It will be played next day. Djokovich was leading by 2 to 1.

10,11 and 12th July

10th
Visited Westfield Mall at Shepherd's Bush. It is supposed to be the biggest in  Europe. Selected a gift for our elder granddaughter, Abhishree who became 16 this year. Travelled through a labyrinth of underground lines to reach Shepherd's Bush. First it was Dist line. Then it was Central line. We were back home at Wimbledon in the evening..
11th
Bought the gift after showing it to our son. Semi-final Football World Cup match between England and Croatia  was played today at Moscow. Crocia won 2:1.
12th
Some of the media comments on England's FIFA world cup game were interesting. After 1966 FIFA world cup win it was long awaited England's entry in Semis. Expectation to reach finals was quite high. Defeat became very disappointing. Media comments :

9th July

Ruchi got two tickets of Central court at usual rates as part of neighbourhood scheme. Since she lives in Wimbledon she gets the benefit of the scheme. Venita and myself availed of them on 7th. Abhishree and Amolikaa received two tickets each as members of Westside club. They were availed of on 6th by Pilku along with Abhishree and again with Amolikaa on 9th.
Amolikaa who had stayed overnight in a friend's place along with some others returned early to accompany her father to Wimbledon for tennis matches

2nd, 3rd,4,5, 6,7 and 8th July

2nd
Got into routine : Daily meditation, pranayama and Asans/exercises early morning. Walk 10 minutes to buy 'The Daily Telegraph' at local Sainsbury, a cup of  Earl grey tea at a nearby  Coasta restraunt and back home. Time with family and children. One hour walk near our house in the Wimbledon park and coffee at Starbucks/Coasta in the afternoon/evening. Watch hordes of working/middle class people walking to and from Wimbledon on footpaths both sides of the Wimbledon road. Dinner with children.
The sun rises at about 04.50 and sets 21.20 hrs. here these days. The IST is 4 and half hours ahead of GMT here these days.

Along with Venita watched pre-quarter final matches with Djokovic, Nadal, Edward, Alex de Minaur, Angelique Kerber and Naomi Osaka in Centre court of Wimbledon. Nadal played superb game.

8th (Sunday) :  Venita went to Tooting market along with Ruchi. Brought south Indian lunch. All of us enjoyed it much.

After about 9 hours flight reached Stansteev airport. It was a long drive of over 2 hours to 48 Bathgate road, son's residence in Southwest London. Trying to adjust with change in time cycle. There is 4 and half hour difference in time cycle. 
1st July
Slept a lot during the day. When i see disc of my Samsung cell now it shows local time as 23.40 hours on Sunday First July and 0413 hours on Monday, 2nd July at Delhi.
Spent some good time with son, daughter-in-law and grand daughters. Younger granddaghter came from her school for weekend.
