Attended cremation of KPS Gill at Lodhi road crematorium. A number of people attended, mostly police officers, friends and relations.

KPS Gill IPS (Rtd) died today in the afternoon due to kidney cardiac arrest. He was 82.We worked together in Assam for a long time. He was matchless in law and order management. May his soul rest in peace. We pray to God to give strength to the  berieved family to bear his loss.

Obtained the audio and soft copy of the transcript of recordings of my interview by a research officer of Nehru museum in four sessions last year in a pendrive. Neha is to edit it for a final view by me and the  Museum before it is placed in the archives for reference.
Barun handed over cover of his father's book on Guru Nanak to Pravesh who is helping in reprinting it for the family.

Attended a dinner get-together of Allahabad University alumini association (AUAA) in Airport Authority of India guest house on Delhi flying club road. LG Delhi, Shri Anil Baijal, a retired IAS officer and alumnus of AUA, also joined in. Shri Baijal was posted at Dhubri for training as assistant commissione when i was there as SP Goalpara. He said that most of his training period was with KK Sinha. He was with us (Bezbaruah and me) for a short time.
I suggested we could recreate 'Dhubri' at Delhi with Bezbaruah and remnisce together. He liked the idea.

TB related test done.Sangita still gets bouts of fever, though for shorter duration and of lower intensity.

Doctor attending on Sangita at Medant hospital released her to go home. She will have to come for a monthly injection in connection with an uncommon infection, detected few days back after autopsy.

Venita had roster duty on Sangita in Medant hospital, Gurugram from 11 am .  Due to this she could not attend ceremony of release of a book written by her cousin, Indrani Sinha on life in a railway colony.
Sangita is better. Bacterial infection is identified. Body immunity is found weak. She is prescribed to take steroids to deal with infection. She is much upset.
Neha/Babloo came at about 2.30 pm after Akshat and his friend's test chess matches at JL Stadium. Venita returned at about 3pm.

13th May

All tests have not hinted to any serious ailment in Sangita.  New medicines are prescribed. There was no fever in the evening.Tarun is diagnosed with hermes and is being treated for it. It is highly infective.

12th May

Venita was on Sangita's roster duty at Medant hospital,Gurugram from 11 am onwards. Fever is still not leaving her. Some more tests are done. Results may be available next day. Tarun is also not quite well. The family is with them and helping to tide over the crisis.
Attended batch contributory lunch at CSOI, Kasturba Gandhi Marg.  12 batcmates (including some spouses) of IAS, IPS,IFS,Central services joined in. It is held on second friday of each month.

The Supreme court closed for summer vacation. It will now open on 3rd July. Despite holidays, the court decided to hear some important cases during break on Tripple Talaq, polygamy, halal etc of Muslim law.

Sangita felt better today. Temperature went down.
While i was walking in the nearby park, i got a call from Ritanbara at about 8 pm. I responded, 'Hallo Ritanbara'.I heard the voice of Allaynah. 'Hallo Alaynah', i said. 'I am Dada' She kept mum for sometime. She perhaps could not recognise my voice. I heard her voice after a long gap.She was quiet and not as shrill as she always is. She is growing. She is over six years now.

Fever is not leaving Sangita. The attending doctor will decide next day whether she should continue in hospital or could go home,take medicine and come for periodical check.
Joined an 'Interactive session on India Bangladesh relations : Recent trends' with Ambassador Ashok, of India (Rtd.) and present High Commissioner Sayeed of Bangladesh from 6 to 8 pm. at CSOI. The main unsettled issue between the two countries relates to sharing of Teesta waters.
The High Commissioner invited me for tea on a conveient date.

4th May

In the Supreme court in the afternoon. Met Tarun at Medant hospital, Gurgaon and enquired about the health of his wife,Sangita who is admitted there. Venita stayed back. Will return home if not required for overnight stay by the family. So far all investigations have given positive results. Some more are to follow. Neha, Tarun's sister-in-law and Abhay, his second son were in attendance. Neha will leave at about 1 pm to be with Akshat in the school. Investigation results did not reach us till late evening.

In the Supreme court in the afternoon.  Venita went to Vikaspuri yesterday in the evening for some work. Sheomohan is likely to join her on arrival from Fatehpur today.
A new legal phenomenon is seen in the country. The Supreme court is passing orders on matters such as police reforms,Kaveri water issue, Yamuna Satlaj link etc but these are not implemented/enforced due to perhaps public pressures. It proves in all probability that people are more important than anyone else.
