Sunita update : She is finally home in the night yesterday after a 13 day stay at the Covid floor of the Medanta hospital,Gurugram. Last dose of the steroid  and antibiotic were injected at around 9.30 pm yesterday. From next 5 day course of antibiotic and week by week declining dosage of steroid will be given orally,  insulin 4x daily. She was cheerful on return.

Sunita update: In the morning, duty doctor said that it was all clear for discharge of Sunita today. But the senior  doctor who came later said that two more days were needed to normalize Sunita's condition . They are now reducing intravenous steroids levels gradually and expect to reach an oral tablet level by Friday. On the new situation Subhash said,"C'est ls vie" In English it means Such is life. According to Wikipedia C'est ls vie is French expression. Then he said "Que sera sera."In English it meant 'Whatever will be, will be'. It is Italian expression. Subhash was thoroughly disappointed with the new development.

Sunita update. Day 18 since start and Today is the 10th day in the hospital. All blood tests are good, she is feeling well and staying off supplemental oxygen more often, but continues on oxy support for substantial periods. Date set for discharge..20th. From tomorrow steroids are to be tapered of and BP monitored, likely to stabilize on Tuesday/Wednesday. Let us pray for her full recovery.

Sunita has been off oxygen for longer period and feeling comfortable. She is advised deep breathing and short walks in the room to get legs moving. Her inflammation markers are near normal levels. She is expected to be discharged  within  a couple of days,say,Tuesday. Good news for the family.

Idulfiter is celebrated today....Sunita's RTPCR result has not yet come . Sunita continues in Covid floor of the Medanta hospital.. She is largely on supplemental oxygen. She is in good spirits. She keeps her room door open. My father also kept the doors/windows of his room wide open in Roberts hospital at Kanpur when he was admitted there for surgery quite a few years back. Sunita said that she felt isolated in closed doors. My father said he felt suffocated within closed doors. Sunita has made friends with nursing staff. She is cheerful.

In course of WhatsApp chat on Sunday the 9th May we discussed different variants of virus during second wave of Covid in India. It was informed that infected person's breath could carry virus over air to any part of our body in proximity and settle there to ultimately to go over by touch/otherwise to our nostrils/throat and  infect us. We have to be extremely cautious/careful...Silku's videoblogs were appreciated. While narration in the blog is by Silku, camera is handled by Ritanbara....Sunita is in the hospital and recovering slowly. She is being treated for pneumonia and breathlessness.
