Pilku went back today at noon. We felt good and relaxed during his 4 day stay. We wish he visits us as frequently as possible. We got our air tickets, visas and passport. The overseas journey begins on 27th instant very early morning.

 Pilku went to Gurgaon to meet Babloo over tea at Palm's. Silku could not meet due to preoccupation.

Pilku cutting cake on his birthday at Delhi. We were quite happy to celebrate his birthday at VV on 20th. It being a working day, only Silku could join in the celebration. Others could not.

Visited Vikaspuri to receive passport by post. Celebrated Pilku's birthday along with Silku. He cut the cake to the singing of 'Happy Birthday' by all of us. Babloo could not join due to official preoccupation. Ruchi's cousin sister wished him with pretty purple/white orchids along with a cake. She works at Chennai in Standard Chartered Bank.
Pilku is 48 today. He was born on 20.12.1968 at 05.58 hours. According to the Indian calendar, it was Thursday, Shuklapaksh, Pratipada of Paush, Samvat 2025 at Kanpur, UP. Venita arranged to distribute sweets at Vikaspuri temple. We blessed him for a happy life. We will transfer some money to a charity at Fatehpur for the occasion as we did last year.

Pilku arrived today morning. Nearly 4 hours spent in Passport Seva Kendra at RK Puram for reissuance of our passports. It was quite a cold day. It is 15 degree centigrade and foggy at present (8.45 pm).

Visited Passport Seva Kendra in RK Puram where we have to report for reissuance of passport tomorrow (19th). Pilku arrives tomorrow (19th) for a couple of days. After a long gap we will celebrate his birthday at Delhi on 20th.

Supreme court bar association elections took place today. In the Supreme court from 2.30 t0 4 pm. Advocate Digvijay Singh came from Fatehpur. Venita went to listen Shrimad  Bhagwat katha at a nearby place along with a neighbour.

Spent a couple of hours in banks, CGHS and sometime with travel agent. Visa is not granted by a foreign country to  passport holders whose passports' validity is for less than 6 months only. Our passports need renewal.

A get-together was organized by Barun at CSOI to celebrate his wedding anniversary today jointly with Pramod and Arun's falling on a day or two later respectively on 12th and 13th Dec. We attended it along with other members of the family.

Attended a  Memorial meeting at CSOI in remembrance of Mokshalata Mahajan IRS (Rtd.) ,a batchmate, who died a week back. Glowing tributes were paid to her. I also spoke. Venita went to  Barun's place in Greater Noida for a get-together.

Attended talk by Ambassador Mira Shankar on American election-Outcome-Implication for India at CSOI. She discussed all aspects of recent American Presidential election and its implication not only for India as also for others. As for India nothing much is likely to change. With regard to China it would be like a fight between two Sumo wrestlers who would not bring down the other due to their financial involvements with each other . Racial divide, minorities and gender were the prime factors in the outcome of election.

Babloo is 45 today. On 1st December, 1971, Wednesday, Chaturdashi of the month of Marg Shirsh, Shuklapksh, Samvat 2028, he was born at 09.02 hours in Dhubri civil hospital, Assam. I was then posted as SP Goalpara distt., the biggest in the state of Assam area wise. The dist hqrs was at Dhubri. We pray for good health and long life  to him. We will hold birthday dinner during the week-end.
