Went to buy a new cell. Hope to get one by Wednesday. Arranged a meeting of Barun and Advocate Anand with Advocate Vikas to finalize a couple of legal notices. I have already vetted them. We will be at Vikaspuri till Friday.

Drove to Vikaspuri. Before that we visited SBI Basantlok and office of the Indane gas to meet  its MD as gas line connection to A7/2  is much delayed, No email ids or phone numbers of MD and other officers are given in the the Indane gas website, Only one id is mentioned "avantika.rudra@igl.co.in"and the mail to it failed. At Vikaspuri did misc work.

Completed morning program.
Attended lunch at Gurgaon, hosted by Kaushals, to celebrate their golden anniversary and birthday. The young couples should take a lesson from their life and try to adjust with each other during trials and tribulations of life. To me marriage is a sacrament and not a convenience or contract. Close friends and relations were invited. Shivani sang a heart touching song and applauded profusely by all. She has written a book on music.
After attending lunch at Marriott, Gurgaon, Arun/Sunanda accompanied us to VV. They liked our flat.

Completed morning program. Submitted application for Visa to the British High Commission. There was confusion in the Commission as internet was globally dysfunctional. All applications were being processed manually. The applicants were being called to submit papers not according to time of their appointment but haphazardly. It evoked criticism among them.

Completed morning program.
Through oversight, left the passport at Vikaspuri house. It is required to be given to the Visa officer at the British High Commission tomorrow. Venita went to Vikaspuri early morning and brought it to VV. Collected thallium stress test report from Max hospital. It is the same as it was last year . I am fine. Invited Kaushal and family for a meal. They returned from USA the other day and are to go back to Jaipur shortly. We may also be leaving Delhi for summer holidays in the second week of June.

Underwent stress thallium test at Max hospital. It took almost full day. Venita accompanied. Neha joined in. In the afternoon visited SBI, Parliament street and collected bank statements for Visa to visit Pilku and family in UK during Indian courts' summer recess.

Completed morning program. Visited CGHS. In the Supreme court from about 1.30 to 3.15 pm. The Supreme court closed on 16th May. Will now open on 30th June.The Delhi High court is however open upto 3rd June and closed thereafter till 6th July. It is quite hot these days here.

Cast vote in Municipal elections along with Venita. Shri Das came to meet along with his daughter. Earlier he lived in the ground floor of the block. His daughter is married to a judge of the Supreme court. Now he lives with the judge.

Attended a seminar, organized by Arsipso, at CRPF Officers Institute, Vasant Kunj. Satyabrata Pal, former High Commissioner of India to Pakistan, AS Dulat, former OSD to the PM of India and Secretary (R) and Ashok Malik, Senior Journalist and Senior Fellow, Observer Research Foundation were the principal panelists. The subject of Seminar was 'Turmoil in Kashmir-the way-out' from 10.30 to 13330 hrs followed by lunch. The seminar recommended that a developed economy may help in solving the problem of Kashmir.

Visited CGHS. Met Advocate Digvijay Singh in the Supreme court. Joined a delegation of Arsipso to call on Shri Girish Saxena,a retired IPS officer of 1950 batch and former Governor of J&K for two terms,  to give him a citation in recognition of his contribution to the development of Arsipso. He is also a founder member of Arsipso.

Drove to Vasant vihar. Venita stayed back at Vikaspuri. She will come to VV next day. Due to restriction on movement of diesel taxis, their drivers went on wild-cat-strike and caused traffic jams. Went to CSOI library. Met Dr Subramanian, a retired IPS officer of1963 batch. He has written a number of books on subjects relevant to Police. We had a cup of coffee together.

1st May

Completed morning program.
Had planned to go to CSOI to join in review of a book by an author in the evening. Venita advised against it due to heat and distance (we are at Vikaspuri for weekend). Thapa went on a month's leave to his village in Nepal today early morning. He will reach there after 36 hours changing buses twice on way. Although major part of the journey is through plains, but quite a part of it is through hilly terrain when bus moves quite slowly. We have donated some amount on behalf of all our children for repair to his fully damaged house during the earthquakes in 2015 and 2016. Some relief was given by the Nepal government.
As part of the religious function, which began yesterday evening and ended today early morning, a big 'langar' was organized . It is first offered to the goddess and then shared by all.
