Completed morning program. Visited RML hospital along with Venita. In the Supreme court from about 1 to 4 pm.
In the photograph below you see my wife,Venita, along with her brothers, sisters and her father's friend's children at early age. She is number 2 in the rear row from the left. They are now
a close-nit family who love each other, stand together in times of need, happiness and sorrow.

Youngsters are seen fiddling with the cells and other gadgets all the time. So much so that when one is talking to the other, you notice the other getting lost in some message replying it by a text, oblivious of the other. This phenomenon is seen in grown-ups too. Someone noticed a young girl  and boy dating each other in a restaurant but during entire period of stay, they were glued to their gadgets and did not utter a word to each other. I took my granddaughter to a tennis match between Federer and Murray at Wimbledon in June/July this year. There too i noticed the same. The engagement with the gadgets has crossed reasonable limits and requires to be addressed for correctional actions by all of us.

Completed morning program.  Attended a get-together in IIC. Silku also joined in. Later Venita arranged a dinner at  home. Amitabh could meet Babloo/Neha/Akshat and Dr Prasad. Ritanbara is on tour. He talked  to Khyati and Alaynah too. Children were excited to see their gifts sent by Ruchi.

Completed morning program. Amitabh arrived today in the morning. He spent the day with us at Vikaspuri after a lapse of few years. It enlivened us. We enjoyed every moment of it. We drove in Vasant Vihar, Shantiniketan and Anandniketan areas along with him and Venita in the afternoon.

Completed morning program. Arvind (Munna ) met for a couple of hours.We had lunch at Sagar Ratan restaurant of Asoka Hotel. He mainly talked of his ordeal during the illness of Yash, his nephew, son of youngest sister, Gita. After venting his feelings he was light hearted and cheerful.

The migrant crisis in Europe needs astute handling. After their arrival, they should be registered at one point and thereafter sent to different countries of Europe as per an agreed plan. The surplus should be sent  to other countries of the world too, like former states of Russian confederation.

It is unfortunate that politics is being played in the name of dengue at Delhi. Municipal corporations have alleged that Delhi government is not releasing funds to fight dengue.  Delhi government says that Municipal corporations are controlled by the BJP; so they should go to the Central government for funds. Municipal corporations may be having BJP controlled councils, but administrative control is with the Delhi govt. Funds are given by the Delhi govt and not central govt. The Delhi govt cannot shirk their responsibility. Jung and Kejriwal together are Delhi govt. They cannot have adversarial roles. They must learn to work together so that people of Delhi get proper services,which is their right.

Completed morning program. Attended a Hasya kavi Sanmelan at CSOI. Venita went to Srimad Bhagvat katha,
One poem of the Hasya kavi Sanmelan narrated the story of an old woman and her 4 sons-in-law. She wanted to know as to how much each one of them loved her. She first took the eldest son -in-law to a lake and jumped into it. The eldest son-in-law dived and brought her out. She gave him a Honda city. She repeated the test with second son-in-law. For saving her he got Maruti 8oo. The 3rd one got a Hero motorcycle. When came the turn of 4th, he thought why to risk his life as he was to get nothing more than a bi-cycle. So he allowed her to drown. When his father-in-law came to know of it, he gave him a Mercedes. The whole auditorium resonated with peals of laughter.

Completed morning program. Attended a get-together of men, women and children at Pizza hut Ambiance Mall, Gurgaon to celebrate Akshat's birthday. Akshat got a number of gifts. At the end of the event, he was keen to go back home, pretending tiredness. Neha quietly told me that he was feigning tiredness so that he could go home to open and see gifts. He looked quite excited about them.

There is criticism in certain quarters for permitting the South-i-Arabian diplomat, accused of rape, to go back to his country without facing trial in the Indian court. Praveen Swami in a write-up in the Indian Express today says " If one nation punishes diplomats, for good reasons or bad, there is nothing to stop the other nation from doing the same. For all practical purposes, diplomats would be at constant risk of becoming hostages." I fully agree with Swami. That is perhaps the 'raison d'etre' behind Vienna convention which allows immunity to diplomats from criminal and civil action.

Property rates are touching rock bottom in Delhi/NCR. Instead of buying, needy people are in renting-spree. A friend of mine bought two 4 bedroom flats, each of 2400 sqr feet floor area in a prime location of Delhi, quoted at 14 crores, for 7 crores only.

Akshat was born today. He is 9. According to Indian calender, he was born on Friday, Navmi, at 9.57 am of Aswin's Krishnapaksh, Vikram Samvat 2063 in Moolchand hospital, New Delhi, India. It was also Shradh paksh during the period. It corresponded to Gregorian calender's 15th September 2006. It is a traditional Hindu belief that ancestors take births during the Shradh paksh in families. Neha took him to DLF Mall, Promenade, Vasant kunj along with her parents to buy a gift. I met him there on way back from the court. I gave him an inspirational comic, 'Toyo', written by Gurumaa. Venita could not come. A get-together, cutting of cake are organized on 19th Sept. at Gurgaon wherein all relations, friends and children will join. We are also invited.
Early morning we prayed for his long healthy happy life. Venita distributed 'kheer' to all.

Jeremy Corbyn , Britain's new Labour party leader appears to have a forceful personality and may rejuvenate the party, morale of which is very low after its ignoble defeat during last general elections. Good for democracy.

Completed morning program. Visited Safdarjung hospital along with Venita and CSOI thereafter. In the Supreme court from 2 to 3 pm. Venita underwent a couple of tests at Focus diagnostic center, Green Park.
Contests will be keen in  Oct/Nov Bihar elections. Cake-walk for any party is unlikely.

Completed morning program. Accompanied by Venita, attended Arsipso Executive Committee lunch at Heritage club, RK Puram. Director IB, DGs CRPF and CISF also joined in.
Sheena murder case is much in news. Involvement of her mother,Indrani Mukerjea, is under investigation. Indrani, an Assamese lady, is thrice married and twice divorced. Her second husband reportedly partnered in the crime. Motives of each are not yet fully clear. Investigation will bring  out the same shortly.

Completed morning program. Attended interaction with renowned author Ms Uma Vasudev on her book 'Tales from a broken era' at CSOI today. She spoke on her other books too and mainly on Indira Gandhi. The discussions took political undertones soon.
The story read out by her described an incident of attack during partition on Punjab border and savior role of an Indian grandmother in regard to a Muslim girl.
