One poem of the Hasya kavi Sanmelan narrated the story of an old woman and her 4 sons-in-law. She wanted to know as to how much each one of them loved her. She first took the eldest son -in-law to a lake and jumped into it. The eldest son-in-law dived and brought her out. She gave him a Honda city. She repeated the test with second son-in-law. For saving her he got Maruti 8oo. The 3rd one got a Hero motorcycle. When came the turn of 4th, he thought why to risk his life as he was to get nothing more than a bi-cycle. So he allowed her to drown. When his father-in-law came to know of it, he gave him a Mercedes. The whole auditorium resonated with peals of laughter.
