Completed morning program.
Visited A7/2 along with Venita. The interior designer is to bring the furniture etc. next day.
Memorial service, with bhajans and speeches , was organized for Raniji at Arya samaj Mandir, Vasant Vihar. We attended it along with other relations and friends. Her American daughter-in-law, wife of second son Babloo , made a touching speech. Babloo also spoke well. Raniji was a painter and sculptor. One each of  her paintings and sculpture were exhibited in the Prayer hall alongside her smiling photograph.

Attended Raniji's cremation at Lodhi road electric crematorium. Almost everyone of the family at Delhi was present. She was Venita's cousin sister.

On appointment, met Dr Anoop Mshra, diabetes specialist as Venita's sugar level had remained quite high for long time. He had last seen her in 2010 and given quite effective medicines. She has been taking them since then. In between other diabetes specialists have examined her and continued the medicines prescribed by Dr Mishra. A review was called for by Dr Misra. After examining Venita, Dr Mishra prescribed some tests and asked to see him thereafter with the reports.
Visited A7/2 along with the interior designer.

Accompanied Venita to the workshop of interior designer and A7/2 to finalize process of shifting sometime in the first fortnight of Feb. Spoke to the senior staff of Godrej to expedite supply of office and home furniture without any delay.

Completed morning program.
Visited CGHS and CSOI. The courts were closed.
Went to A7/2 and kept some items there, given by Venita. Office furniture has come in full. After Puja by Venita, my office will be functional from here soon.
Called Kent machine supplier to install one in the flat. He is to install it tomorrow.
D.N. Kapur, a CBI official, an ardent devotee of Krishna, had died about 2 months back. Went to his house at Harinagar. It was locked. Neighbors told that Kapur's relations come sometimes. Kapur's wife had died much earlier, They had no children.
SK Dutta, former Director CBI who lived in our society, died in the evening today. He was 81. Venita had gone to meet Mrs Dutta in the nearby hospital where he breathed his last. We will join the cremation tomorrow.

Attended lunch on sprawling lawn of Meghalaya house to celebrate coming into being of Meghalaya state, 44 years back on 21st Jan 1972. Families of Meghalaya, officers, both serving and retired, joined in. Advocate Atiar and Shri Ghosh, former secretary Govt of India met me at CSOI.We discussed professional matters.

Amolikaa was born today. Venita did Puja and distributed sweets to all to celebrate her birthday. We talked to her and blessed her with happiness and big achievements in life. She was born on this date, i.e.,19.01.2005 at 1852 hrs GMT at Wellington, South-West London on Wednesday or at 002 hrs of 20.01.2005, IST on Thursday,11 years back.  According to Indian calendar, Tithi was Dashmi, Shuklapksh of Paush, Samvat 2061:

Visited Meghalaya house and met Shri Sampath Kumar, Resident Commissioner and Shri Ghosh a freelance photographer. Sampath told that he had joined Assam/Meghalaya cadre as a matter of choice. Ghosh worked in Star TV earlier. He is to make a presentation before the CM, Meghalaya at New Delhi today on making of a documentary on Meghalaya. As i had some other engagements, i could not stay on.

Makarsankranti is celebrated today with lots of 'til' (sesame) sweets. These were given to all who came to us on the day as well as to the neighbour in front of our flat. In 1976, i had come to Allahabad from Assam along with about 20 officers and men. We were deputed to assist UP police in the management of duties at Kumbh Mela, mainly for dealing/helping people of Assam who would come there for holy dip at Sangam.
I remember i had taken my late mother-in-law in a boat for a dip at Sangam on this day in 1976. She was quite happy about it and had blessed me  for facilitating the bath. Her round face and big eyes on the day flash into my mind sometime.

Met the interior designer in his workshop at Okhla for a couple of hours and discussed revision of certain designs. Venita explained her points. On way back visited CSOI.

Ruchi's PAN card is received today. I hope that the TDS, deducted from Uppal's bills has, been deposited. If not, it should be done before/by 7th Jan to save more penalties. Spoke to the interior designer. As it was the day for odd number vehicles, could not go to the Supreme Court. As nothing important was pending , did not hire a cab. Had to hire one yesterday as Venita took the car to  Gugaon to join Neha on her birthday.
Observed Ekadasi fast today. It is quite refreshing during/after fast.

In the Supreme court from about 1.30 to 3.30 pm. Venita went to Gurgaon and joined Neha on her birthday. In the morning she did puja in the society temple at Vikaspuri, New Delhi, distributed sweets to all.  Neha, our youngest daughter-in-law, was born today in 1973, 10.16 pm at Kota, Rajasthan, corresponding to Amavashya of Paush, Krishnapaksha, Thursday, Samvat, 2029. She is 43. We wished her a healthy, happy, long and prosperous life.
Gita, our niece, elder sister's daughter , was also born today. We wished her 'Happy birthday'.

Venita took measurements of kitchen shelves to buy containers fitting them...Met Vinay Prakash, youngest son of late Naresh Bhaisaheb, and family who had come from Fatehpur to meet their daughter at Delhi.She is being coached for JEE.
