24th to 29th November.

On 24th visited IIFT at Pragati Maidan. I had dropped Venita there in the forenoon. I joined her at about 3.30 pm. Lot of people, mainly of lower middle class. Hall no. 18 which housed foreign stalls was a big draw. Amitabh Thakur met in the chamber. On 25th Venita visited IITF again. I visited SBI mainly for driver's work. His LIC policy had lapsed. It was renewed. Later picked up Venita at about 4pm from the IIFT. On 26th visited Dr.Agarwal's dental clinic. But it is de-registered by the CGHS, so the permission from CGHS for dental processes there became infructuous. Visited dental clinic at Dwarka mode and Motibagh-I. None of these impressed me. On 27th Venita went for various tests as desired by Dr. AK Agarwal at City X-ray, Tilak Nagar. Thereafter she again visited IIFT 3rd time. She must have walked in the IIFT for over 10 hours during last 3 visits, including this one. Shopping is her great hobby. She never gets tired in it and forgets all her pains of the body. I stayed back at home.Heard the interview of Ratan Tata in the Walk the Talk program of NDTV. He emphasize on flexibility in policy matters. His interest is designing. After December 2012 when he quits as the Chairman of TATA Group,he wants to spend all the seven days of the week as Sundays. On 28th Sh. Bansal, a BJP office bearer, wanted me to come to the meeting of Human rights committee of which he is the new incharge. I will attend it as an invitee and not be a formal member. I am not a member of any political party and hope will never be member of any political party in future. On 29th had to go to Center for Sight for showing Venita's eyes to Dr.Talwar. Dr. Talwar suggested OCT, which is Angiography of both the eyes, to know their present condition. Visited Dental clinics at Sarita Vihar and Pashcim Vihar. I liked the one at Pashcim Vihar and will undergo dental processes there in future. Spoke to Barun, Ajju and AP Singh over phone about miscellaneous matters. Pravesh dropped in the chamber. Venita came to the chamber at about 3pm after shopping.
Retired to sleep at 10.30 pm.

19th to 23rd November

On 19th could not leave for Chandigarh as the flight was delayed and in the mean time Atiar had taken adjournment of Frigoglass case to 3rd February, 2011. I stayed at the airport from 7am to 2pm. It took lot of time to get back my checked in luggage. Sh. Sanjaya Sahu could go early as he had not checked in any luggage. Visited SBI. While on way to the airport, traffic was very slow as half the road in the Delhi Cantonment area had been blocked by the movement of heavy armored Army vehicles. For a moment I thought I would miss the flight. But I could reach the airport at about 7am. On 20th watched the Indo-kiwis 3rd test match at Nagpur for quite sometime. The engagement of Kate Middleton and Prince William is much in all the channels. The celebrity cult not also bugs us it equally bugs Europeans. I find there is no relation between my work and pleasantness of thoughts. I have to introspect to find out the truth about it and the work which should suit my thoughts. On 21st we were to have lunch in Hyt and Regency. But I did not feel like going out and wished to relax at home. I informed Pravesh about it. On 22nd visited CGHS. The CMO did not give permission for metal crown to one of my teeth. He said it was not permissible. I said I would produce the circular permitting the same next day. Amitabh Thakur met me in the chamber. Visited Delhi Golf club for a cup of coffee with Sh. AP Singh. Attended wedding of VP Singh's daughter. On 23rd visited SBI and made the PPO up to date. Surprisingly no deduction is made from the account of driver Thapa for the premium due in October-November. This is a deficiency in service and I will take it up with the AGM, SBI.
Retired to sleep at 10pm.

30th October to 18th November

On 31st visited Chandigarh in connection with Frigoglass case on 1st November. The case was not taken up. And the next date of hearing was fixed on 19th November. On 3rd November left for Fatehpur by Puri express. The coolie and the conductor did not behave well. Will write to the Chairman Railway Board shortly about them. The train reached Fatehpur half an hour late at 2pm. Digvijay Singh, Adv. came. I gave him a sum of Rs.2000/- as his fees for appearance with me in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. On 4th after the morning exercises I had a good massage in the Sun. In the evening went to market along with Venita who did shopping. Visited Naresh Bhai saab. Ajju and Shivji came to see us. In the morning late Shyam Kishore's wife also said hello to Venita and promised to come later as she was then going to the school where she was teaching. Her late husband was my class fellow in the eighth standard. She is the 3rd wife. When she was married to Shyam Kishore, she was 18/19 and Shyam Kishore was 50. They had three sons. Now she should be in late 30s. On 5th Shivji, Gopal and Pappu came along with their families in the evening after the Diwali lamps were lit. On the day we celebrated Diwali. Their another brother got a job in ICICI recently. He is unmarried and could not come along with Shivji and others. I told Shivji to send him to meet me before he leaves for Mathura, where he is posted in the ICICI branch. Sheomohan and his children helped Venita in lighting lamps in the big ancestral house.Had also isited Tameshwar temple in the morning. On 6th visited Dr. Chetan to wish him happy Diwali on way back from Kalkan temple in the morning. Took a round of main market which, as a friend says, is the Cannaught Place of Fatehpur. Met a class fellow of ninth standard. It was in early 50's. He cannot walk well and was walking inside his stationary shop on his knees like a child of 2 and half years. He is only 73 years and counting his days to leave the world. Krishna followed by son of Vidya babu (I don't know his name), an Ex BRTF Civilian officer came. Krishna is a retired Treasury officer of the Collectorate. Krishna was 2 year senior to me in the school and college. We talked of the ways of Zappers, their materialistic approach to life. Vidya Babu's son's son, let us call him A, as I don't know his name,a B-tech, fell in love with a married lady 15 years his senior in age with 2 grown up kids and disappeared with her. Nothing is known of them for the last 15 years. The discussion ended on a note of concern over commercialization of religious rituals and practices, need for meditation and looking inwards. Krishna talked of Ram Chandra mission and its head quarters in Chennai and meditation. We dispersed at about 10pm. On 7th Muzzan came along with his son Rustam and informed about admission of his 2nd son in the London School of Economics for the MBA course. Naresh Bhaisaab's 2 daughters in law came and met Venita along with his daughter's daughter. I did Chitragupt puja as desired by Venita. Visited Naresh Bhaisaab and spent one and half hour with him. On 8th. Visited Krishna and met his family. They talked of Ram Chandra mission. Venita talked of Sanatan Dharma. If the discussion would have continued, I am sure the entire family of Krishna would have become her follower. A retired group captain and his family visited. We visited Shivji also on his request. On 9th Venita left for Allahabad by train. On intervention of SHO, GRPS , she could get a seat in the train which the conductor gave reluctantly. Watching his face I felt as if he was being pick pocketed. They give a seat/berth on payment of bribe. The level of corruption has gone up very high. Even if you report hardly any action is taken. Wanted to inform Tarun about the coach in which Venita was traveling for convenience of receiving her. After quite a few calls he responded. Curiously he did not show any interest in knowing the coach number. Rather he said," Will she be able to get down of her own ?". I was wonder struck by the stupid question. I replied,"You should know better. She is your sister."I am sure Tarun said it because he has not been keeping well and much depressed due to the death of his mother recently. I informed Venita's younger sister also when she happened to ring me from Pondicherry for talking to Venita. Visited HDFC ATM and took out some money. All the other ATMs of Fatehpur were not functional for at least a week. Later SBI ATM started working. Sh. Amit Srivastava is the branch manager of the HDFC. He belongs to Fatehpur and a smart person. On 10th I told Sheomohan that we would bear the cost of treatment of his mentally sick wife. It will be around Rs.1,322 per month. Besides I have also given a sum of Rs.2000 for Citi scan of his wife's head. I have given advance for November, December and January to Ajju to release the amount part by part every fortnight as required. If I give it to Sheomohan he would spend otherwise. The Doctor says it will take about six months for her to cure. She is showing signs of improvement. Read the review of " Mahabharat in polyester", Which updates the earlier book namely "Polyester Prince" of 1998 by Hamisr Mcdonald. Visited Chetan who gave me a pen by which I have written the diary today. The approach to the toilet is low. I got it foam padded so that there is no injury to the head. Chetan is not well. He is operating from his residence. His legs are swollen. On 11th briefed the mason for slabbing the ceiling of a part of the house. He suggested we should give labor contract so that demolition part of the old roof is done expeditiously. After all the ceilings of the house are slabbed we can plan out the size of each room as per requirement and use of the house for a charitable purpose. Sheomohan's wife is much better. Ajju came and gave a sagacious advice. He said as to why we were investing so much amount in the repairs of the house. He further said that as we grew older it would be difficult for us to come to Fatehpur often and take care of the house. I would discuss this with Venita. On 12th we spent a total of Rs.1225 on the electrical repairs. On 13th Chetan and Ajju came. Raghunandan, our earlier share cropper, also came. Later his grand son brought 10Kgs of rice from the fields which earlier belonged to us and now were sold out to him. Raghunandan said that the fields were still belonged to us and he would continue to give a part of the produce every season. I appreciated his sentiment and accepted the rice. But I told him to bring not more than 5 Kgs whenever he brought it. Met SP Fatehpur and had high tea with him. I requested him to get a BPL card to Sheomohan if possible. He said he would help and told me send him to meet him.The Super Express train which was scheduled to come at 10.15 pm at Fatehpur, came next day at 3.30 am, late by over 5 hours. SHO,GRPS stayed with me at the Fatehpur railway station and saw me off. I proposed to send an email to chairman Railway board about the poor maintenance and attendance services which are now privatised. We reached New Delhi station at 2pm. The train was late by about 7 hours. On 15th met Bablu in his office and collected BSES bill which he had inadvertantly taken home. Visited Ajit opticians and gave Venita's specs for change of glasses. The power of glass used in left eye for reading is increased. Chistya came. Could not hold meeting with Kuber about his case as he was preoccupied. Met AP. On 16th visited Dental Wing of CGHS of Safdarjang hospital. Again met AP. On 17th attended the cremation of Sonu, eldest son of Sh.Mahesh Sharma at Ghazipur crematorium. Sonu died on 16th at 11 o'clock in the night due to sudden heart attack. He assisted me in my work. I have yet to pay him balance of Rs. 1500/- which he did not collect though I informed him through Sh.Mahesh Sharma. He left working with me after joining law in a Law College at Noida. He was sincere and a lovable boy, who was always and exclusively available to me to assist in my work. May his soul rest in peace and his family get fortitude to bear his loss. Mr. Tulsi who attended the cremation, canceled all his engagements for the day including one with me to brief him about Frigoglass case. I was to leave for Chandigarh on 18th , but had to cancel it as he said that he would meet us only at 6pm on 18th. Today was also ekadashi and I kept fast. On 18th met KTS in his chamber at 6.15pm and briefed him in detail about Frigoglass case, which is coming up for hearing on 19th November. Met Pravesh also. Retired to sleep at 10.30 pm.
