Completed morning program.Attended to work in the chamber.Met Babloo outside his office and gave him a hot case containing some food items given by Venita.As far as I know these are some sweets presented to me at Farooq Nagar, Haryana, where I had gone on 26th January for unfurling the National flag on the occasion of 61st Republic Day celebrations in the premises of Sardar Patel BED college in presence of about 150 students and trainees, mostly women.
In his comments on "day for today" Silku has observed that Babloo was 'the day for today' champion....I think it is an honest comment by him as an elder brother on his younger brother.He is appreciating the recent good work done by a younger brother at Copenhagen.I am happy for it.Let my sons love each other as Ram,Lakshman,Bharat and Shatrughan loved each other.
Yesterday the book,namely "Not by Reason Alone",written by my batch mate,Sh.N.K Singh,IAS(retired),who is now a JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar was launched at the London School of Economics in presence of a number of celebrities,such as,Vice Chancellor of Oxford University,Director LSE,Deputy Chairman Planning Board,Govt. of India,Dr.Meghanand Shah and some others.Had I known this prior to launching of the book,I would have informed Pilku and Ruchi to attend it.Both of them are LSE alumni.

Completed morning program.Visited CGHS for Venita's medicines.Did professional and other work.Wrote blogs.Visited Assam house.Late Hiteshwar Saikia,former Chief Minister of Assam was the subject of discussion.RC appeared to be an admirer of Late Saikia.He was Chief Minister of Assam for 2 terms.I was quite critical of his ways.He was autocratic,hard working and a great go getter.I was moved out from the district of Goalpara where I was SP from 1971-74 because I politely refused to recommend detention of some persons whom he desired to be detained under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act.The local MLA initially approached me for their detention.But as I refused to oblige him,he prevailed upon Late Saikia,who was the then Home Minister of Assam.Later in 1977 I was posted as SP Kamrup by the then Chief Secretary of Assam,late KDN Singh.The district of Goalpara was the biggest in area in Assam at that point of time.The district of Kamrup was the then most populous district of Assam.At a later date I was approached for my consent for posting as the Director General of Police,Assam in 1994 by the then Principle Secretary of Home,Govt. of Assam.At that point of time I was holding the charge of the Director General of Police ,Meghalaya.I replied that I would be quite happy to come to Assam as the Director General of Police as I had served in Assam for about 25 years.But I requested late Saikia through the then Principle Secretary to kindly agree not to transfer Police officers without consulting me.To this the Principle Secretary told that late Saikia would never agree.
The RC,who had worked as the Deputy Commissioner of 3-4 districts during the tenure of Saikia said that late Saikia was great in his own way and supported officers in discharge of their duties.I said that late Saikia supported officers as long as they carried out his wishes.He was reluctant to agree with me.It may be due to the fact that I, as an IPS Officer,had different experience and he as a IAS Officer had different experience.We agreed to disagree.

Could not complete morning program.Went for a prescribed walk after flag-hoisting in the society on the occasion of sixty first Republic day of India.Sh.Bansal,Director of Sardar Patel BED college at Farooq Nagar in Haryana,an hour's drive from Delhi,invited me for flag-hoisting and address to 100 BED students and 50 junior basic trainees there.Venita accompanied.I emphasized on hard work and character building in my address. They put some questions,which too I replied.The reporter of Dainik Jagran requested me to let him know the distinction between Dan and Dahej.I told him that 'Dan' is spiritual.It diminishes ego and brings in humility.'Dahej' is criminal as in it one extorts for the marriage union between a boy and girl.The victims are girl's parents generally.It could be the boy's parents also who may have to pay for the bride of their choice.Although such instances in the Indian context are far and few,but we do get reports of such cases.Both taker and giver of 'Dahej' are punishable under the Dowry law in India.
Visited Bablu at Gurgaon on way back.I spoke in Avadhi to Babua.His first comment was that it was quite funny.Spent some time with him.

Completed morning program. Took Venita to Center for Sight for eye check-up. She is advised by Dr.Dinesh Talwar of the Center to come after 2 weeks for further check up.She was given Avastin injection in the right eye.Dr.Talwar is to do further laser operation. Because there is a swelling in the retina of the right eye,pursuant to laser operations, done by him a couple of times for correcting her vision, he cannot do further laser operation.The vision has not so far returned. She cannot see from her right eye clearly.This sudden development was noticed by us in January,2009.Ever since then we have come to this Center at least 10 times up to Jan.This year for this or that check-up.
I decided to give comments on write-ups and book reviews I happened to read in future.

I received a letter from Abhishree thorugh an email from Pilku.She has struggled to write me about how she is playing tennis etc.I replied her.I felt quite elated after reading her letter.I wish my other grand children to write me.Khyati writes quite well.She wrote me once quite sometime back.I wish she writes again.

Completed morning program.Neha visited with Bablu and Babua.I took out Babua to PVR,Vikaspuri.In PVR while we had just entered the enclosure where games for children are provided,we found that Babua had disappeared.Myself and Bablu got a shock for a moment as he was not to be seen anywhere in the games enclosure.When we came out we noticed he was struggling with the guard to run out of the PVR complex.Because of the guard he could not go out.We brought him back to the games enclosure.He moved in the train for children for a couple of rounds and then didn't want to continue .I think he was scared of loud music and games, being played by other boys.My father as also my wife cannot tolerate shrill sound of the microphones which is enjoyed by the new generation so much.I feel they enjoy it and do not get their kick unless sound of music is shrill.There appears to be a generation gap between us.Babua appears to have inherited this trait from my father and his grandmother. I am not too much sensitive to loud music.But I cannot tolerate it for long hours.That is the main reason for me for not going to witness a movie in a cinema hall whereas I used to see each movie on the 1st day of its release in cinema halls upto 40 years of my age.
Babua had similarly slipped into a lift in Dubai without the knowledge of his parent and went down to the bottom of the multi-storeyed hotel where they were staying.They tried to run around,howling,crying(this is my imagination as I was not present in Dubai on that day)for him and prayed to God so that some good person brings him back to the reception of the hotel. Lo! an Arab gentlemen brought him like an angel to his parents.
Near McDonald's a girl was advertising the two new small Honda cars.She was telling that those who are putting on red shoes should come and take a gift from her.Babua saw that the statue of the clown outside McDonalds was putting on red shoes.He told me "Dada, this clown is putting on red shoes.Will they give a present to him"? I said "Let us go and ask the girl".I asked the girl if she would like to give the gift to the clown who is putting on red shoes.I told her that this is a query from Babua.She said why not.And told Babua to come and take gift.A tattoo of a fish was made on his hand.Babua asked "where is the gift for clown"? The girl said that the tattoo was the gift.Babua said I want a toy as a gift.She gave a pen with logo of Honda. Babua was not satisfied and insisted for a toy. we intervened and persuaded him to come to go home.

Did Sukshma exercises and asans.Could not complete morning program as we had to go to RML Hospital for check-up of Venita.Venita was checked by Dr.A.K Agarwal, who prescribed medicines and prepared the indent sheet.He said that cat scan report was normal and that there was nothing to worry about the mass below the liver.On being asked whether any operation to take it out was necessary,he advised against it.He went through Venita's discharge report of RML and said that there was nothing serious to worry about.In the medicines prescribed,I noticed that these are basically vitamins,one for control of blood pressure besides the insulin.We will collect medicine from the dispensary on Monday.Dr.Agarwal is curt and commands you like a commander in a battle field.We tolerate his commands as we have vested interests in his treatment and consultation.He is good in medicine.
Venita visited Tanisque in CP and South Ex.She sold out some old jewelery worth Rs.8000.After deduction of this amount the ear rings bought by her cost over Rs.23000.The process of melting the old jewelery is interesting.In matter of minutes her jewelery was converted into a small mass of gold(24 Carat) in front of your eyes.It looked to me as if a dead human body had been reduced to ashes after it is burnt on pyre.
While Venita was seeing the jewelery in Tanisque,CP,I went out in search of Cafe coffee day, and after a good walk of 10 minutes I located it in the outer-circle of CP.I had a cup of coffee and some sand witches.Venita rang up to go to her.I forgot to pay the bill in a hurry.I am so scared of her perhaps.On way back it took quite sometime to locate the cafe for payment of unpaid bill.In the cafe they took sometime to take out the unpaid bill.The girl who had served me coffee was blank when I told her that I had forgotten to pay the bill. I was amused to note that the teen-age-girl had forgotten completely about serving me coffee and sand witches and taking the payment before I left the shop.It's quite common these days to note that young people have become quite forgetful.It appears they live more in past and future and less in present.They brood like hens over the eggs for the chicks to come out.Unless they develop a faculty to live in the present and pursue their goals they cannot achieve much in life. I recommend Vipassana to the young generation for developing awareness, so vital for success in life and a free mind.
Venita saw fridges and Lcd tvs and selected one 345 Lts refrigerator and 22 inch of Lcd tv, both of Samsung.

Completed morning program.After collecting the car registration certificate from Magic Auto,Dwarka came to chamber for professional work.Vikas sent two packets of Gazak and Reviri.These are delicious.Thanked him.Renu told about appointment with Dr.A.K Agarwal,Head of the Department,Medicine,RML Hospital at 1000 hours on Saturday the 23rd January.Cat scan report of Venita has come.It is the same as it was when cat scan has been done a couple of years back.The mass just below liver is there.It is not doing any damage to the liver or any other part of body.Neha was to come tomorrow.But now it is postponed as we will have to go to Dr.Agarwal for consultation as per appointment. Babua will be going to Sh.Ram school,Gurgaon instead of Heritage School.We wished Bablu and Neha to book a flat in Gurgaon and offered to provide the margin money,as loan.But they said that they would decide about it in March.

Completed morning program. Attended professional work. Today, the State of Meghalaya came into existence. Today is its birthday. Every year the Meghalaya House in Delhi organizes lunch in its lawns at Delhi. I attended the lunch and met my old colleagues as well as young ones of the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre. Shri K.K. Sinha I.A.S.(retired), who was Chief Secretary to the government of Meghalaya when i was the Director General of Police from 1993 to 1996 had a brain operation at Vimhams. There was sudden oozing of blood which filled up the brain. It had to be taken out. I didn't know about it. We will have to visit him one of these days. Talked to Shriranjan I.A.S. about The Disability Institute at Fatehpur. Its government aid has been stopped and it is about to be closed. Requested him to do something about it. Also met Peter, a christian and his beautiful wife, Nandita, a Hindu. Peter was the Superintendent of Police Shillong when i was the Director General of Police Meghalaya. I requested them to help in organizing our visit to Mansarovar and Kailash during the ensuing summer. Had a cup of tea in Cafe, Khan Market. Mr. R.T.P. S Tulsi was operated today. Retired to sleep at 10.00 p.m.

Completed morning program. I had to reduce the timings of some exercises and prayanams. Took Venita for eye check up to Center for Sight. She was checked and advised to come on Monday again. Four eye drops and a pill are prescribed for five days. Avastin injection became necessary as swelling in her right eye after laser operation is not going. Another Avastin injection will have to be given if it doesn't go. Neha came with Babua. Venita went back home and Neha to Gurgaon. Babua complained to Neha as to why i did not call him by the name of Babua. I always address him as Babua. I dont know if i forgot to address him as Babua and instead called him as others call him as Udi . Neha requested me to call him as Babua. When i called him as babua he was quite amused and started jumping. I didn't know that he liked me to call him as Babua. I always call him Babua. I did some professional work in the chamber. My Hotmail account is not yet restored. Will request director C.B.I for it tomorrow. Retired to sleep at 11.00 p.m.

Could not complete morning program. Appeared in the High Court in Frigoglass case, and prayed for a short adjournment as K.T.S Tulsi could not come due to impending hospitalization of his elder brother in the AIIMS. Both K.T.S Tulsi and Shri. R.T.P.S Tulsi, his elder brother, are also appearing in the case. One of the Judges of the High Court Of Punjab and Harayana asked for the convenient date for next hearing in which K.T.S Tulsi would be able to attend. As told by K.T.S Tulsi i prayed for adjournment to 16th or 30th March. The Judge said " Mr. Shrivastava, you are asking for a short adjournment. If 16th March is a short adjournment, then what is the long adjournment? ". I apologized and said that Mr. K.T.S Tulsi had given commitments to the clients in February and 1st half of March. Hence the request for 16th march. The Judge smiled. The next date of hearing was fixed on 16th March. While one of the Judges was having a dig at my 'short adjustment request' the other judge, the chief justice, was smiling. Both of them were floored by my apologies and did not make further comments. I firmly believe that politeness, love, friendship, sympathy, goodwill can win even your bitterest enemies. You can win your wife with these and not by anything else, even by most prudent arguments.

Visited Empire Stores in Sector 17 for buying some Chinese Jasmine tea. Presented one pack to Sanjay. Left for Delhi at 1400 hrs. Had lunch and a cup of tea at Kurkshetra and later at Shane-a-Punjab. Returned home at about 18.30 hrs. Venita had been given Avastin injection in her right eye which had been subjected to laser operation twice. I have to take her to the Center for Sight tomorrow for further check up as advised by Dr. Talwar. Retired to sleep at 11.00 p.m.

Could not complete morning programme. Had to leave home at 08.30 hrs for chamber. Did urgent work including sending report to C.B.I for hacking of my hotmail account. On way to the airport came to know that all flights to Chandigarh had been canceled due to fog. Left for Chandigarh by road at 1400 hrs after lunch at home. Sanjay accompanied me. At Krukshehtra had a cup of tea in the guest house of Haryana Tourist Development Corporation. We had Chinese food in the Taj, Black Lotus restaurant. Retired to sleep at 11.30 p.m.

Completed morning programme. Had to go to Moot Court of the Delhi University at India habitat center, lunch and heavy tea. Could not go. It being Sunday i took rest.As i work about 16 to 17 hours each day of the week, i take full rest on Saturday and Sunday as far as possible unless there is urgent work. Venita went for the market. Packed for journey to Chandigarh tomorrow. Retired to sleep at 10.30 p.m.

Completed morning program.Today I was to go to join a batch lunch with my wife.I did not go for fear of taking drinks.Barun and his wife came to invite us for Bhaiyya's marriage.They came by Metro.I picked them up at the station.After lunch he went to his Uncle's place.Thapa went on leave from today. New driver,Chandrapaul,joined for a month.Paid Rs.6500 to Thapa,being his pay for January.2010 + Rs.1000 allowance for visiting home, which I give him once in a year along with 10 days special paid leave.He also avails of one day leave every week.I had to go to India Habitat Center for a Moot Court,organized by Delhi University, followed by lunch and at the end with high tea.Could not go as Venita went to the market.Packed for journey to Chandigarh tomorrow.

Completed morning program.Went for half an hour walk in the evening also.During the Solar eclipse today the moon shut out the sun completely except for a diamond ring of light from it.This kind of eclipse takes place once in more than a millennium. Venita did not sleep during the eclipse starting from 1123 hours to over 1500 hours, which is her sleeping time when she does not like to be disturbed at all. She took food at about 1600 hours,sprinkled Ganga water all over the house and took bath thereafter.She had completed all her work before 1100 hours.The maid did not come today due to Solar eclipse.Venita had to do the household work also including cooking.Day after day she is becoming superstitious.Mrs.Manoroma Gupta is her friend,philosopher and guide in the matter.There are different opinions about superstitious practices.Whatever may be the truth behind them, these are a fact of life.One should not condemn them to hurt the feeling of those who practice and believe in them.For me it was a day as usual.A young friend sent the following message --
"Always have a unique character like salt.Its presence is not felt but its absence makes all things tasteless!!"
I sent the following reply to my young friend --
"It's possible when we could shake of much of our ego.Good morning sir."

Completed morning program.Venita accompanied to South Delhi.She had to do some odd jobs.
Today is Makar Sankranti. The Sun takes northerly course.It heralds the arrival of summer.The days become longer and nights smaller.Bhishma Pitamah was waiting for this day to leave his body for heaven.It is believed that if one dies when the Sun is in northerly course,he/she goes to heaven.The 1st Mahakumbh of the century also commenced today at Haradwar.It occurs at a gap of 12 years.The last Mahakumbh took place in 1998 when Venita and myself took a dip in Sangam at Allahabad.My younger sister and a nephew also joined us.After that Ardha kumbh took place at Nasik. We took dip in Nasik in 2004.Venita is planning to go to Haradwar for a dip in the Ganga during the Mahakumbh which ends towards the end of April,2010.I have no plan to accompany her as things have changed for me after April,2004.I am advised to protect myself from extreme cold and heat.It is quite cold here these days and sometimes mercury goes below 5 degree Celsius.
The main day of bathing is on 14th April(Baisakhi Day).It is said that on this day a drop of nectar fell in the Ganga at Hari-kia-pauri at Haradwar,when Jayanta,son of god Indra,was taking away the pitcher containing nectar.After churning of the ocean ,14 divine items came out.Among them was a pitcher containing nectar.A fight ensued between gods and demons for it.To save it from the demons, Jayanta took it away.And it is at that time the drops of nectar fell in 4 places,namely,Prayag(Allahabad), Haradwar,Nasik & Ujjain.
In 1998 the configuration of planets was as it was 144 years back at that time. In 2010 the configuration is as it was 535 years back.For details of the Mahakumbh and Ardha Kumbh one has to read Puranas.
Venita has given 'dan' in the name of all children and grand children praying for their well being.
Venita returned at about 1645 hours.We had tea and snacks in McDonald's and thereafter returned home.

Except for Sukshma Vyayam and brisk walk for 40 minutes in the morning,could not complete the morning program.Had to leave for Escorts hospital for periodical(bi-annual) Blood Tests from 0900 hours.These ended around 1230 hours.Thereafter visited the chamber and did professional work. The Hotmail account is not yet restored. Joined Lori celebrations and lit the sacred fire in the premises of the Society.I was not keen to go for it.I have been doing it now for over a decade.But Venita insisted that I should go.I had a long one hour evening walk and wanted to change for hot water bath.Due to insistence from Venita and request from the General Secretary of the Society,went to light the fire without taking bath.By the time I returned I had spent 17 hours of personal and professional work besides attendance to Lori celebrations from 2030 hours.During the Lori I met some eminent residents of the society.They were all discussing the suicide of a married lady employee of CBI who had been tricked by her colleague with the false promise of marriage.She pawned her jewelery,took loans to please her paramour.Her debt stands at Rs.8,00,000 after her death.Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide.The episode makes a case of abetment.But it is not a straight case and calls for a detailed verification of her 4 page suicide note wherein she has mentioned how she was tricked and the persons from whom she took loans etc.Her husband does business in Russia and mostly lives there.She had filed a suit for a decree of divorce.The divorce proceedings are pending in the court.Her male colleague has not filed any proceedings for a decree of divorce from his wife.
The above episode reminded me of an observation of my Late father that if a lady sliped from the path of her Dharma (as understood in our society),she continues to slip and very rarely she recovers.She becomes a woman of easy virtue.Although I agree broadly with my late father,but I am an optimist and feel that she can still recover and start treading the path of Dharma,provided she has a strong will and good company.
The results of my blood tests are received.My sugar,Blood Urea,Uric Acid,Lipid profile are normal.Liver function test is also normal except in regard to Albumin, which should be within the range of 3.50-5.00 and it is 5.08.My complete Haemogram
is also normal except Hb (Hemoglobin),which should be within the range of 13.00-18.00 and it is 12.80.The Hct/PCV should be within the range of 40.00-52.00 and it is 38.00.The ESR,which should be within the range of 1-10 and it is 20.The PLATELETS which should be within the range of 1.50-4.40 and these are 1.35.I don't understand the deficiencies and excesses, shown in the above figures.I will have to consult medical officer for knowing the implications as also if any medication is required.As far as I understand these are not very significant.

Completed my morning program partially as I had to go to office early. There was a scheduled meeting with Sh.K.K Saxena, IAS(retired), father- in- law of my eldest son. He had come with his family and is staying with my youngest son to whom his daughter is married. We had a nice get together in Ashoka Sagar Ratan. The rates of various items in the menu of the restaurant have skyrocketed. A cup of coffee with tax now costs you Rs.100. We just had 2 cups of coffee, 2 cups of tea, 1 lemon soda and 3 numbers of bondas(a salty preparation of South India)& 1 vanilla ice-cream. And the bill was Rs.809.It was half of it about 6 months back.I will have now to think twice before I come to this restaurant anymore.I would rather like to go to a five star hotel than come here as the rates are more or less same.
My wife bought some presents to our daughter- in -law and grandson from Khan market.We parted thereafter. Sh.Saxena & others went back to Gurgaon and we returned Vikas puri.

My Hotmail Id has been hacked on 9th. Now I cannot receive or send emails from Hotmail Id.I have complained to the Hotmail as well as police.The email is not yet restored to me. The hacker has sent message to a number of my contacts from my id that I am in problem and that they should send $1800 to me.I have informed all my contacts as far as possible about hacking of my hotmail Id and requested them to ignore the messages from that Id till I inform them. Visited State Bank of India.

Completed morning program.I was to go to attend Kayasta Navavarsh Mangal Milan at Noida.But as it was Ekadashi and I being in fast I could not go.Venita wanted me to go to Gurgaon. I wanted to take rest, she went alone.After 3-4 hours sleep I felt quite fresh. Had I gone to Gurgaon I would have become sick.I have informed all friends and relations about the program so that they could go to Noida for Milan if they so desired.

Completed morning program.It being a Saturday I went to Cafe for a cup of coffee. When I don't have any other work I do go to Cafe for a cup of cappuccino coffee(which I relish very much)on Saturdays,Sundays and other holidays.When I returned Venita said some odd things.I decided not to go to Cafe for coffee in future.I don't want to hurt anyone by my actions.But if I have to hurt anybody in course of my duties to myself and to society,I don't care if my actions hurt anyone as these are in the interest of my well being and general welfare.The personal well being and general welfare are not opposed to each other.In fact they are complementary to each other. Only one has to establish an equilibrium between the two.If some action is not conducive to one's self interest it will not be so in the general interest too and vice versa.

Completed morning program.Attended to mails.Visited Meghalaya house.The Resident Commissioner gave me a beautiful calender showing facets of life in Meghalaya as also a diary.Before the arrival of Resident Commissioner,an officer talked about his experiences with a number of politicians when he was attached to them.It was interesting to know that most of them had skeletons in their cupboards.

Completed morning program including Vipassana meditation.Attended to case work and replied to mails.Visited State Bank of India PBB. The Heritage Motor Car Association's exhibition of old cars was inaugurated by Sh.K.T.S Tulsi and his wife Suman Tulsi at Pragati Maidan.Attended it.There are a good number of Heritage cars,some of them look even better than the new ones in the market today.

Completed Sukshma Vyayam as well as Pranayam. Could not do the Vipassana meditation for full one hour.Did for a little over half an hour.All this because we had to leave for Centre for Sight at 10am for Venita's eye injection: Avastin , which costs Rs.10000. We get it free of cost from the CGHS. It could not be done as we forgot to bring it along with us.Venita also informed that her sugar level was quite high. She is diabetic.Met Dr.Dinesh Talwar,eye specialist,and informed him. He told to come for it on 12th Jan.Attended to case work and sent replies to the emails.

Completed morning program.Visited CGHS dispensary for medicines.I am getting Thapa,my driver,a life insurance policy at a premium of Rs.500 per month for 15 years which will give him about Rs.80000 +bonus +life cover.I will be financing it.Visited State Bank of India personal banking branch in this connection.Venita wanted some cashew nuts from Kairali. Visited Kairali. Met the colleagues in the chamber in the New Year today.The courts opened after winter holidays.

Completed morning program.Venita told that it was Gita's birthday.Wished her. I was told by Gita that it was on 04/01/10.She however said that I could wish her on any day and even one day earlier.Gita is my niece and daughter of my elder sister. Right from her early childhood, she has lived with my father and had education upto post graduate level.Her marriage also took place when she was living in our house. She had continued to live in our house along with her mother, my elder sister, even after the death of my father in April 1991. Her marriage took place in 1996, when I was posted as Director General of Police at Shillong,Meghalaya.My father took care of her, so did she take care of my father, who died at the ripe age of about 87. After his death I took care of her, along with her elder sister who continued to live in our house after father's death. So I have a great affection for her, as a father would have had for his daughter.Venita,however,was angry with me for talking to Gita affectionately and wishing on her birthday.I ignored her and went to 'Cafe' for a couple of hours keeping complete silence.Read newspapers there, sent replies to a number of smss for the Happy New Year greetings,wrote cheques for pending bills against credit card etc.On way back home,dropped them in the sky box, took out Rs.10,000 for payment of Rs.5,000 as loan to maid and Rs.5,000 to the driver as his pay.

I scanned through my diary of 2009 and noted the following visits for holiday and other purposes.The list given below doesn't include visits to various places for appearance in cases before the high courts of India :

1) FEB 13TH TO 16TH - Goa.

2) March 4th to 15th - Sohana(Vipassana course)
March 20th to 29th - Fatehpur(sold of 10 acres of ancestral land)

3) April 24th to 26th - Ujjain (only Venita went and did pooja in Mahakaleshwar temple)

4) June/July 26th to 1st july - Leh

5) July/Aug 25th to 1st Aug - Goa (with the family of my eldest son)

6) Sept. 2nd to 12th - Sohana (Vipassana course by venita)

7) Oct/Nov 29th Oct to 6th Nov- Fatehpur(to undertake repairs of the ancestral house so that we could start either an old age home or a school for handicapped children etc.)
Nov 25th to 29th - Nashik (to attend marriage of Akshay)

Completed morning program.As I could go for walk at 1000 hours Venita objected on the ground that it would delay breakfast.I told her that she could take it and need not wait for me.Walk is vital for me,prescribed by cardiologist: 4 kilometers in 40 minutes at empty stomach in not too cold or heat condition.I went for it over ruling her objection.After breakfast went for coffee at Cafe where I sent SMS replies to New Year greetings.I mistakenly repeated the sms of a young friend in reply to sms of other friends.I thought my replies will not be acknowledged as mine due to the name of my young friend there. I will now have to redo the things. It is quite taxing. I will do it sometime later. Went for another 45 mins walk in the evening.

As I had to go to Kurukshetra by 0900 hours,I could not complete my morning program of exercises and walk along with pranayam and asans.However I did Vipasana for one full hour.We drove to Kurukshetra and saw the place where Shri Krishna preached Bhagwat Gita to Arjuna.It takes about 3 hours to reach there.The SP Kurukshetra had arranged a guide for us to take around the place. His services were quite useful as we could see almost all the important holly places.We also visited MahaKali Shakti Peeth where the left leg of Sati had fallen while Lord Shiva was taking her dead body all over the universe.Brahma Sarovar is majestic.The Mahabharata narrates the story of Shri Krishna doing the last rites of all those who died in the war here.PanGanga is a place where Arjuna brought out water for Bhisma,who felt thirsty and died there.
At Haryana tourist center Pipli in Kurukshetra we had a chance meeting with Sh.KPS Gill,IPS(retired), who was going to Chandigarh along with a friend from USA to show a Punjabi wedding. We had a small chat with him. He later requested for filing a PIL in the Supreme Court of India against construction of a flyover along the bank of Jamuna at Vrindaban.He said that the construction of the flyover will totally eclipse the holly place. I told him that the matter will have to be researched by Advocates who will need fees to pay. So far as I am concerned I will present the PIL before the Supreme Court and will not charge anything. He said that he would try to find out some advocates who can volunteer for the purpose and come back to me.I talked to an advocate of the chamber who is dealing with the Jamuna Express way case. He says he has already done the research and willing to be a part of the effort.Of course he expects remuneration for the purpose.
