Attended "GST UNRAVELED, an interactive session on Goods and Services Tax" with Shri SUMIT DUTT MAJUMDER, Former Chairman, CBEC and Expert for EU on Capacity Building on GST in India at CSOI in the evening.  He explained GST lucidly.

Unless she is hospitalized, Venita cannot stick to a restrcted diet . It is necessary for cure of her stomach pain. We will discuss and decide. Had intermittent sleep for about six hours yesterday night. Could not decipher the reason.

In the Supreme court in the afternoon.
As Thapa went to his Nepal village on a month and a half leave, hired another from today on hour basis. His company charges Rs. 300/- for four hours. If he is detained beyond 4 hours, an additional sum of Rs 50/- is charged for each hour. I have also to give Rs 200/- over and above charges for his engagement, for conveyance to come to VV and go back to his Head office at Dwarka. He came by the bike of his friend. It is about 25 kms from Dwarka to VV.
Due to heat at Fatehpur and subsequent couple of days sickness at Delhi, i did not have my favourite cup of  cappuccino coffee for about 10 days.. I had it today at CSOI coffee shop and relished it a lot.
Heat is tolerable today..

Local corporation elections took place today at Delhi. Our names continue to be at Vikaspuri poll station. We are at Vasant Vihar. Could not go to Vikaspuri to cast vote as venita is not quite well and driver is on leave. She has persistant pain in the stomach.

Gilloo/Gita left Fatehpur on 16th in the afternoon sheddng tears. Earlier remembering my father they wept during the day and night too. They implored that we should not sell the ancestral house. It was a lively one-and-a-half-day stay for them and us too. Living in Fatehpur house they felt as if they were living in a farm house with plenty of fresh unpolluted air,good water and greenery often not found in metro cities and a luxury to those living in two/three bed room flats . They met quite a few of their friends and relations. Food tasted good as it was cooked in Fatehpur water,according to them. It was sweet and light.

Dr. Chetan came. Could not connect to Krishnanand. On a message from me he rang-up in the evening. We talked for sometime over phone.
The Prayagraj train is to leave for Delhi at about 11 pm. Advocate Ajay,Vinay and his wife, Dr. Ved and his wife saw off at our residence. Dr. Ved accompanied me to the railway station.

Gillo/Gita left in the afternoon for Kanpur to spend a day with their mother/my elder sister. Some old friends visited them. A couple of them had lunch also. Bhavna institute principal met and sought help. Advocates Ajay and Shivji came.

The downloaded photograph carries two pictures which are 26 years apart. One is of Mishti and the other of Bhaiya's daughter.

Gillo and Gita came today morning by Prayagraj. Gita came first time after her marriage, over 18 years go. Gillo came  once earler too after marriage. This is her second visit. They lived in the house over 30 years and left after marriage. They also had their full education. upto postgraduate. They took care of their maternal grandfather,i.e., our father who lived upto about 87.We love them much.
Met Dr. Chetan. He is 86 and quite weak. But still practises. Also saw Dr. Tej Mansingh and Hariom.

Late Naresh Bhaisaheb's family came besides Advocate Shivji and a builder. Bhaisaheb's family spent about an hour discussing prospects of their children's study abroad. I suggested them to apply in colleges of their choice. Once admission is done by any college, it is easier to get visa of the the country.
Fatehpur looks cleaner and orderly.
Misc. repair works are undertaken in the ancestral house.

11 and 12th April

 Packed for journey to Fatehpur by Prayagraj at about 9.30 pm for week long stay. Venita could not come due to injuries during fall on 31st March. Cancellation of her two-way rail ticket cost us over Rs.1300.
The train arrived Fatehpur one and half hour late early morning on 12th.

Attended a panel discussuon on 'China-Pak-Economic corridor (CPEC) : Geopolitical implications for India' organized by Arsipso at IIC in the forenoon. Panelists included Ashok Kantha (ex Ambassador to China), Ranadev ( ex-Addl.Secretary,cabinet secretariate) and Pratibha, an expert on China affairs. After erudite presentations ,lively discussions followed.

Attended Art dialogue on 'Gandhi in our times', organized by Raza Foundation at CSOI. Next of the series will be on 7th of the next month. A critical analysis of the subject was done by Ashish Nandi and three others. Audio was not upto the mark.
