Completed morning program. Prayagraj was about an hour late and reached Fatehpur at about 5.30 am. Met Krishna on way to park for walk. Invited him for a cup of tea. He said he would come next day. Today he is to watch World cup cricket match between UAE and India. India won by 9 wickets.
We spent time in the morning sitting in the sun,reading newspapers,4 of them,The Hindu,TOI, IE and HT. Sheomohan has cleaned up the premises well, entire house is whitewashed, doors, windows furniture cleaned/painted. He gave us delicious lunch/dinner. All fruits,vegetables,serials here tasted different and reminded me of days of stay in childhood/boyhood/youth when we used to get them from our farms. Papaya was fresh from the tree. We do not get the same quality in Delhi, place of our stay now. It started drizzling from about 8 pm and continued through the night. It is as cool as in early Nov. We had to take out warm clothes and light quilts. Pollution level is minimal.

27th Feb.Fatehpur visit

Completed morning program. Packed for journey to Fatehpur. We visit our ancestral house at Fatehpur during Holi and Diwali as far as possible. The courts are closed for bout 8 to 10 days during these holidays. We visited Fatehpur from 22nd to 27th March and later from 18 to 30th Oct last year.
Left for Fatehpur by Prayagraj Express train at about 9.30 pm.

Completed morning program. Accompanied by Venita, attended Hasya Kavi Sanmelan at CSOI, Chanakyapuri. Audience burst into peals of laughter on hearing the poems. In the background of Valentine day yesterday, one poem imagined Radha Krishna exchanging their feelings through sms, internet chats, facebook etc these days, but found it boring. So they changed over to their old ways of love by resorting to Rasleela. A healthy entertainment for about 2 hours. Venita's body/stomach pain evaporated. Very often it is psychosomatic.
India scored a victory over Pakistan in World-cup cricket match at Adelaide.India has never lost  to Pakistan in World-cup cricket match so far.

Completed morning program. Visited SBI. Joined  AIS 1964 Batch lunch,attended by about 20. We have this lunch on second Friday each month. It is contributory. All those who are in Delhi try to attend. All of us started our professional journey at Mussoorie in first part of 1964. For over about 2 hours, we discuss contemporary issues, reminisce in hindsight, relive the past and very often some decry the present.

Various reasons are attributed to the victory of AAP and defeat of BJP in Delhi Assembly elections. The main reasons are reported as : induction of Ms Kiran Bedi as chief ministerial candidate, consequent annoyance of the BJP's cadre and AAP's proactive canvassing at gross root level. Minorities and low income groups voted in big numbers to AAP.

Completed morning program. Visited CGHS. In the Supreme court from about 1 to 3 pm. The Delhi Assembly election result will start trickling down tomorrow from 8 am. Final picture may be clear by 1 pm. Exit polls give a clear majority to AAP. But BJP thinks that it will get a majority.

Joined in the wedding of Sri Ranjan's daughter at Railway officers club. Shri Ranjan is an IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

Completed morning program. Cast our vote at the Oxford school Polling station. I did not ask Venita whom she voted. I am reminded of one of the last general elections in late 90s when Silku and Babloo cast their vote with us. We did not ask them to vote for a particular candidate. After voting i did ask them whom they voted. Babloo,i remember, said that he voted for Phoolan Devi. When asked why he voted for her,he said ,'Just like that.'  Now both of them live at Gurgaon. I hope they exercised their franchise today along with their spouses. Of course their children will not be voting with them. They are young and yet to reach voting age.

Canvassing for Delhi assembly elections ended.We will cast our votes on 7th Feb. There is neck to neck fight for majority in the assembly between AAP and BJP. The results will be announced on 10th Feb.

Completed morning program. Visited Vodafone store on Jail road. I am paying monthly rent for 3G. But it is available intermittently. I am advised to replace my mobile phone. It was given to me by Venita on my 70th birthday, 5 years back. It is working quite well. Internet is slow when 3G disappears for a while.

Vinod Rai, former Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), was invited to speak on his book, "Not just an Accountant" by the Civil Services officers Institute,Chanakyapuri. Accompanied by Venita, attended the event. He advised the members to be bold to express their views on all issues and reduce the same in writing too.
