Completed morning program. In chamber from 1 to 3 pm. Today is Guru Poornima and a holiday. Pal sent a brilliant picture of Nanak Devji through a multimedia message. Wished Sunita on her 63rd birthday. My father-in law, late SC Verma , wrote a scholarly book on "Guru Nanak and the Logos of Divine Manifestation ". He could not complete translation of Adi Granth in English. I will try to get hold of the incomplete book and complete it.  He died early in his late fifties.
Retired to sleep at 9.30 pm.

27th Nov.

Went for a 40 minute walk. Spent about 45 minutes in the sun in the poolside. The sun was pleasant. The temperature outside the hotel was 23 degree celsius. Had meeting with the client from 9.15 to 10.15 am. Left Hyderabad at 4.15 pm . Arrived Delhi at 6.15 pm.
Retired to sleep at 10 pm.

26th Nov.

Left home very early to board a flight to Hyderabad. Along with Advocate Atiar Singh attended a conference.

Completed morning program. Spent the day reading newspapers and magazines.

Completed morning program. Visited PNB. Spent the day reading newspapers and magazines.We kept fast. It is Prabodhini Ekadashi today. Venita joined in a procession from the temple inside the Society premises on the occasion of Tulsi Vivah for about  10 minutes.

Completed morning program. In chamber from 1 to 4 pm.  Attended a meeting along with Advocate Atiar Singh Dey with Shri Agarrwall, Director BSNL at Oberoi hotel  from 4.15 to 5 pm.

Completed morning program. Met the Director CBI. In chamber from 2 to 4 pm. Held a conference along with Advocate Atiar with the client at Oberoi from 4.15 to 5 pm..

20th Nov.

Went for 45 minute brisk walk. Visited SBI. In chamber from 12.30 to 4 pm. Went to Sh. Kewalramani, a 1949 batch IPS officer (he was in Assam in 1960s ), to wish him on his 86th birthday. He had left his house sometime back. His driver and guard could not tell when he would come back. Left message for him with them. Earlier a bouquet of flowers had been delivered to him in the morning on our instruction to a florist.
Retired to sleep early at 9 pm.

18th Nov.

Completed morning program after a long break. Spent the day reading newspapers and magazines.
Pilku got a pup and named it Cookie. Its breed is not indicated in the mail. Children pressurized him for it. Both Pilku and Ruchi are dog lovers. As a mother loves her child, irrespective of his/her looks and behaviour, a dog loves its master. When all will be sleeping at dead of the night, our Apso pup (we called it Puppy) came from some dark corner of the house to receive me whenever i returned late night after duty. While playing, sometimes children teased it. Puppy would come and hide in between my legs. It was a little toy like hairy living being very much like Cookie. Puppy had golden hair. Cookie has white hair (so it appears from its photograph, mailed to us today ). We wish grandchildren its great company and good time.

16th and 17th Nov.

On 16th 
Mason came. Process of repairs/construction will start from tomorrow. Checked the accounts of expenditure in connection with the same with Shivmohan and Ajju. Did havan, following Vedic and Sanatan Dharm methodology, a mixture of the two. A renowned Pandit desired us to donate some clothes to the three residents of an old age home. He had visited us on the Diwali day. We went to Khadi Ashram and bought 3 woolen jackets.When we reached the old age home, about 14 kms from our place, we came to know that the home had been closed for a long time. We gave the same to the 3 needy and dedicated persons in service of a temple on way back at Tambeshwar. At the temple the manager, a former railway officer, now a sadhu in saffron clothes, told that once upon a time Aurangzeb was passing by the temple and said "Ai salame valekum " There was no reply. Then he said, " If you do not answer me, i will break you and the temple " It is said that a tender voice replied, " Valekum salam ".And Aurangjeb is said to have quitely left the place.
Left Fatehpur Railway Staation at 11:15 p.m. After lot of efforts, got the reservation in A.C-II tier sleeper .Retired to sleep in the train at 11:45 p.m

On   17th
Arrived New Delhi station at 7:15 a.m. Settled down at home. We were away from home for over 9 days. Sheomohan informed that construction work started at Fatehpur. In chamber from 3;30 to 6.30 pm. As Advocate Atiar was preoccupied otherwise, postponed the meeting with Dago . Sapra also could not come due to preoccupation . We will meet him on Monday the 19th instant.

15th Nov.

Venita organised Chitragupta Puja. It is dedicated to the  god who keeps record of our good and bad deeds. In this, children write vowels and other invocations to god. The pen and ink pot are propitiated. Some families visited. We visited some families. No newspapers today.

14th Nov.

Went for one hour walk. Visited Tej. Had a cup of coffee together. Visited Shri Sinha, Development officer, United Insurance on insistent invitation. Called on Sh. Rajendra Singh,IPS, SP Fatehpur along with Venita. Spent an hour with him and his family. Discussed laying of slab in the remaining part of the south-eastern side of the house with Ajju who supervises the repairs of the house.
No newspapers came due to Diwali .
Retired to sleep at 10.30 pm.

13th Nov.

Started anti-biotic treatment of cold. Today is Diwali. A number of good wish messages and telephone calls came on the occasion of Diwali. We too suitably replied. Venita prepared some sugarfree sweets apart from pulse stuffed parathas and kachauris. She decked and made Alpna in front of the main door of the house.  Garlands of marigold were hung around it. For me It was a sight to see her lying on the ground in gay abandon in front of the main door and making and painting designs on the floor. Babu would appreciate it much wherever he is and in whatever form and, I am sure, be filled with immense joy. She bought a couple of vases with red and yellow paper flowers and kept in one almirah of the sitting room. The Puja place is decorated elaborately. The Puja followed by Arti was done with requisite rituals and took over half an hour.

Group Captain (Rtd.) Tej Srivastava and his wife dropped in. Besides them, some other families came. Last ones left at about 10.30 pm. Lot of fireworks by Sheomohan's children. They insisted that we witness the same .We witnessed some. Pilku asked to place some photographs of Diwali at Fatehpur in my blog. I will select some for the purpose. It may take a few days.

12th Nov.

 Went  for one hour walk in the evening. Explained the construction wok to the mason, Ajju and  Sheomohan. Some families visited  Chhoti  Diwali is observed  today. Visited Chetan and family. He gave me some medicines for cold. Chetan is 84. He is dedicated. He does not charge for visit to patients. He is flooded with patients. He is saintly in behavior. I am in regular touch with him. I consider him a friend.
Retired to sleep at 10.15 pm.

11th Nov.

1. Could not go for walk due to cold. Venita went out for Dhanteras shopping. Sitting in the sun and in the midst of  flowers went through the newspapers The adjacent land looks like a valley of red flowers. Advocate Digvijai came and had lunch. He brought some produce from his farm such as  vegetables, pulses. vinegar and bananas. Received sms wishing Happy Diwali from a boy of Fatehpur who is in merchant navy. He is navigating to Lagos_Nigeria for 2 weeks. His wife is in Central services. Advocate Shivji and Advocate Ajay came.

10th Nov.

Went to receive Venita at the Railway station. The train was one and half an hour late. The track was blocked for quite sometime. A buffalow died after being hit by a train. Heard Venita narrating experiences of her stay at Allahabad for over 5 days. She cut short her visit by a couple of days. She took dip in Sangam on first 3 days and in Yamuna on the fourth day.
Akshat won first prize in skating competition in his school. He talked about it proudly. Dr. Chetan came. Had cold and slight fever. Took medicine. Felt better.
Retired to sleep at 9 pm.  

9th Nov.

Went for a long winding trek on the streets, lanes, by-lanes of the town for about 1/1/2 hour. There is a mushroom  growth of small and big houses. The municipal schools have few pupils. Even the rikshaw pullers are sending their children to private schools which have grown in big numbers. I saw kids coming out ,well dressed with neck-ties,from small houses to these schools. I discovered a new fairly well-maintained park in front of the residence of the District Magistrate. I can walk here in the morning. There are not many good parks to walk in.
Ved Prakash , Advocate Digvijai Singh and Advocate Shivji called on. Some electrical repairs were done in the house.

News of the day:"The Amur falcon, a tiny majestic bird from the raptor family is being poached in thousands in North East India. The small raptors arrive in North East India from Siberia en route to their final destination in Southern Africa, stopping briefly in Nagaland where they are poached in huge numbers.

Activists have caught on camera, how the birds are trapped, then the injured birds are kept alive in mosquito nets so they can be exported alive to the customers and international markets.

From cane baskets, the birds are transferred to poles for ease of carrying into villages and towns. Activists who have filmed the massacre say the scale of killing is unprecedented. Conservation groups estimate that a mind-boggling 120,000 to 140,000 birds are being slaughtered in Nagaland every year during their passage through the state." IBN,Live dt 9th Nov. 2012.

8th Nov.

Reached home at Fatehpur at about 6.30 am. Went to the Tata Indicom Service Center. They reconfigured the modem and  restored the internet connection. I took a prepaid Tata internet connection for a month at New Delhi on 5th instant to use it at Fatehpur.This is my first mail from here. I have also added some details in my 7th Nov. blog . Vinay Prakash came. We had a cup of coffee together. Did Puja the way my mother used to do. She followed Sanatan Dharm and the father followed Arya Samaj. Towards the last few years of his life, he more or less followed her sans ritualism. He had very deep knowledge of Tulsi-krit-Ramayna. Very often he recited its verses  to explain different facets of life. My mother died early when my father was about 52. He did not marry again. At the time of my mother's death i was about 16 studying in class 11. Just a couple of days prior to her death, i got the payment of scholarship money. I gave the entire money to her. She was quite happy with the gesture. She looked beautiful. Her very long washed, thick, locks of black hair covered her white face. Her face was very much like that of my elder sister and Silku.  She told me,"You want to buy Badminton kit, net , shuttlecocks. Buy them now". And i bought everything i needed to play badminton in the compound of our house. These memories came to me when i was writing the blog.

7th Nov

Went for a brisk 45 minute walk. The Tata  phatom cnnection which i took yesterday for internet use at Fatehpur is not working. I am told to carry it to a service center for correction. I had to leave for the railway station in the evening. I did not have time for it. MTNL lineman came. He could not  install MTNL wifi in the new laptop. I am using it with a connecting wire. He was of no help in rectification of dysfunctional Tata phatom. Perhaps i am facing some initial problems in operating Windw 8 .
Left for railway station via the chamber. Gave some papers to Surraj in the chamber. for follow-up action. In the train a young man and a girl requested to shift to upper berth as their mother could not climb up. I immediately agreed. Then they requested to shift to another coupe as her seat was there. As i had already spread out, i regretted. Another gentleman who arrived at that time, agreed. Then came the graceful  mother. She was really not in a position to climb. Was it my arrogance that prompted me not to shift? I asked the  question to myself, but did not get a clear answer. After two parathas and a dry vegetable in the coupe of the train, retired to sleep at about 10.30 pm.

6th Nov.

Completed morning program. Visited PNB/SBI. Met Pravesh. In chamber from 2:30 to 5pm. Advocate Atiar Singh Dey  has postponed his visit to London to attend to two important cases ,given by me to him. Shri. Atul Ranjan rang up to clarify certain points in the matter of the disproportionate assets case against him.I advised him to meet Shri Dey for the purpose. We also have to give legal opinion to Dago Thesring . Atiar is working on it.
Venita had a dip at Sangam and did puja. She says that she will have a dip at Sangam on all the 7 days of her stay  at Allaha/bad. She also visited Shanno and met her family.
Retired to sleep at 10 pm.

5th Nov.

Completed morning program. Venita reached Allahabad on time. She was received by Tarun, her younger brother at the railway station.Got up very early. Visited SBI. In chamber from 1.30 to 5 pm. On way back, had a cup of coffee at Cafe Coffee Day.

4th Nov.

Completed morning program partially with 45 minute  brisk walk. Spent the day reading newspapers. Pinku came. He helped in opening my blog page. It did not open through Google chrome. He opened it through Internet Explorer. There is a good write up in the supplement to the IE of date about the operation of Window 8. It has helped me in understanding the operation of my laptop.
 Venita left for Allahabad by Prayagraj.at 9.30 pm.
Retired to sleep at 11 pm.

3rd Nov.

Went for a brisk 45 minute walk. Tata sky network is installed. Cable network Hathway top box is shifted to the TV in the bedroom. Monthly Rs 200/-will be charged by the Tata sky. No charges are payable for the first 2 month. In addition i have to pay Rs. 150/- monthly for the Hathway top box. I am told i could take an additional connection from the Tata sky box itself after paying an amount. I will check to ascertain the option to surrender the Hathway top box to save on the two connections.Spent the day reading newspapers and doing bits of misc. things. Venita started packing for her journey to Allahabad next day.

2nd November

Completed morning program. 

Heard a conversation in a program of Brahamkumaris, telecast by Headlines Today Channel at 6.30 AM. It was impressed that we should develop  child's physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual quotients in a balanced way. The balanced development augments child's happiness quotient. In physical quotient, we have to ensure inculcation of a habit to exercise and play games and in intellectual quotient, the child has to be informed in a manner so that he comprehends and absorbs what he is told. In emotional quotient, we have to ensure that the child has healthy emotions and not stressed too much mentally. In spiritual quotient, we have to imbibe ethical values in him/her. To develop a child as a happy individual, lot of effort has to be made by us. We should learn the latest methods of communication so that the child grasps all that he is told. 

 Had tea with Sh.SS Sharma  IAS (Rtd.). He is in-charge, LPO of the chamber. In the chamber from 1 to 5 pm.

1st November

Completed morning program. Tata sky executive was to come at 10am. I waited up to 12pm, none came. Now they want to come at 4pm, when I am in the chamber. I requested the Tatasky customer care to send him tomorrow at 10am.  While one TV in the drawing room with the set top box provided by the cable operator is functional, the other one in the bedroom is gone blank. I hope the Tata sky will give connection tomorrow.
Attended a meeting in Oberoi Hotel along with Advocate Atiar Singh Dey.
