Attended a lecture by Shri Shashi Tharoor on his book 'Area of Darkness' in the Institute of Social Sciences, at Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. He dwelt in detail about exploitation of India's resources and the people during the British regime. The British left India in bankrupt condition. When they came, India's GDP was around 25%,highest in the world at that time, and left it at minus 0%. I could not retrieve comments of our English friend, Richard on the book of Shri Tharoor. But I remember he had more or less agreed with the observations of Shri Tharoor. Shri Tharoor said that UK  should apologise to India for the same.
