Completed morning program. Accompanied by Venita, attended a 'Kavi Sanmelan' at Central Services Officers Institute, Chanakyapuri. All the 9 poets belonged to the All India Services except two who worked in MTNL and a Central research institute.  It was presided over by the Station Directer, All India radio. All the poems resonated with current issues. Refreshing and enlightening. In one poem the imagery of an old tree, which gave fruits and shade to everyone once upon a time standing lone now, was striking. None liked to go near it. So it decided to fall and die. Its death induced a number of people to go to it to take its wood for their uses.The tree told a story, so true and real, which applied to  human life also.
