4th August

Completed 45 minute brisk walk. Had a cup of Coasta coffee in Subhashnagar mall. Spent the day reading newspapers and magazine. Wrapped ' The Travelogue ' a 20 page write-up in a gift pack to be given to dear Abhishree & Amolikaa in a small ceremony during their visit to Delhi to attend Mishti's marriage. The ceremony will be anchored by dear Khyati in the hotel Raddisson Blue in Greater Noida.' The Travelogue ' was written by us after our return from London in July 2012.
News of the day :"The rover is headed for a two-year mission to study whether Mars ever had the elements needed for microbial life. Because of its heft, the 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) robot can't land the way previous spacecraft did. They relied on air bags to cushion a bouncy touchdown. This time NASA is testing a brand new landing that involves gingerly setting down the rover similar to the way heavy-lift helicopters lower huge loads at the end of a cable. How hard is it? "The degree of difficulty is above a 10," says Adam Steltzner, an engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which manages the mission." TOI, dt.4th August, 2012 on line
We should watch the landing of the Rover on the Mars on sunday.
Retired to sleep at 11 pm.
