23rd
Arrived Fatehpur Railway station at about 5 am. Venita decided to carry on to Allahabad. The cost of extension of journey was more or less the same as for the journey from New Delhi to Fatehpur.
Went for an hour walk. On way met Krishna. He was returning home after morning walk. Straight way he broached the subject of repairs to the wall of his house falling on the maidan side adjoining the house under supervision of Shivmohan, the caretaker of our house. Shivmohan is unwilling for the same. I told him to help Krishna who is very old and can hardly see and do it after work in our house is over. He was non-committal. I will address the issue after the work in our house is over.
The carpenter and electrician came. They will start work immediately. The iron contractor is to fix net on the iron gate tomorrow. Plumber could not be contacted. The wooden frames of the doors and one window are to be ready by next Wednesday. The doors could then be made and fixed by the carpenter.
Vinay Prakash came and requested to be the local guardian of his daughter who was to join JEE coaching at Delhi to compete for entrance tests to IIT and other Engineering courses.
Shivji came. We discussed family matters. He said that he would call the contractor to instal inverter on hire-basis for the duration of our stay at Fatehpur.
Retired to sleep at about 10.30 pm.
