On 26th :
Completed morning program. In chamber from 12.30-4pm. Neha, Bablu and Babua joined us and organized a small celebration of my birthday with cake cutting and exchange of gifts. Visited Gopalji temple in Khan market along with all of them as desired by Venita. Everyone in the family rang up and gave good wishes on my birthday. The birthday is a good day to prepare a balance-sheet of what one could do and what one could not. The following actions and omissions come to my mind this day:
1) Gave up a case in favor of Manish, though it could have given me lot of money. The client had contacted Manish earlier than me. Though the client desired me to take over the case, but I refused as Manish was a junior of this chamber and worked with me in some cases before he left it to setup his own chamber along with some other colleagues.
2) Did whatever I could and I am still doing whatever I can for treatment of Yash, who is suffering from bone marrow deficiency.
3) Have given quite a few charities wherever it was possible.
4) Wrote blog regularly.
5) Practised Vipassana, although not very regularly.
6) Did not take up Sanjay Saxena's case as it would have not helped him much. Advised his family to continue with the counsel who was handling the case.
Hope to help the clients as much as I can in their cases with minimal charges. Practise Vipassana regularly and spend more time with friends and relations. These are the goals I set for the 73rd year of my life .
Retired to sleep at 10.45pm.
On 27th:
Completed morning program. There was a small party at home in continuation of the party yesterday, in which some close relations, Subhash, Sunita, Barun, Bina joined in.Babloo/Neha could not come as Babloo was going to Helinsiki next day. Silku/Ritsy could not come as Alanah is just one year and it is about 2 hour journey from Gurgaon to Vikaspuri.Janaksetu is closed for repairs and Pankha road, alternate route,is damaged at quite a few places due to rains. It won't be good for Alanah to travel such along distaance on a bad road.Venita celebrated the 6th day of the birth of Lord Krishna in the forenoon in the society temple. She organised a Langar for about 150 people. Earlier she also organised 56 dishes offering to Krishna. Barun gave me Randy Pausch's book,'The Last Lecture'. Randy Pausch had 10 tumors in his liver and a few months to live. He was the father of three young children. In this book he advises all as to how to live a full life through practical examples. He is of the opinion that life is full of joy and honesty, hard work and dedication pay in the long run. But this book had been given to me earlier by Ruchi, who had bought it at Singapore. It is worth reading. Pilku and Ruchi celebrated their wedding anniversary today at Cornwall in a farm along with children who are having summer holidays. It is also the birthday of Silku. All of us wished them on the occasion.
Retired to sleep at about 11pm.
