21st
We had told Shiva Mohan to hand over the keys of Fatehpur house to the new owners. In fact he should have handed over the same on Friday the 17th May. The house was formally handed over to Shruti Srivastava and land to Prabhat Kumar respectively in presence of two Advocates , namely,S/Shri Akhilesh Srivastava and Ajay Srivastava.
Went to Dr Anoop Mishra for check up of Venita's high sugar levels. He changed two medicines. Some tests are prescribed.
22nd
Went to Escorts hospital and Dr Mishra's Diabetic institute for prescribed tests. While these were completed in the Escorts ; will be done in the Diabetic Institute next day. One dose of Dr Mishra's prescription has brought down Venita's  sugar to almost normal levels. She is a bit careful now of her food,walk. I hope this should continue at least for some time.
23rd
Counting of votes started at 8 am. BJP is heading for a landslide victory.
Venita went to Fortis for some more tests.

17,18,19 and 20th May

17th
Seeing off by some at Fatehpur railway station was touching. All of them continued to stay on beyond midnight as the train was delayed. Among them was a 2 year old boy, son of Shruti Srivastava, buyer of our ancestral house at Fatehpur. He was smiling all through. We had premonition as if he was our late father come to live in his renovated house.
Canvassing for 7th phase of General elections in India ended. The voting will take place on 19th May. Heard the press conferences of Rahul Gandhi and the Prime Minister on TV. Interesting.
18th(Saturday)
No canvassing took place today. PM Narendra Modi visited Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand and meditated in a nearby cave. Today is Buddha Purnima. The Buddha was born, enlightened and died on this day.
19th(Sunday)
Votes were cast for the 7th and last phase of general elections in India, which take place once after each five years.
Exit polls indicate clear win to NDA and Modi. 
Venita's sugar levels are causing anxiety. We have taken appointment with Dr. Anoop Misra, the best in the field in Delhi and otherwise her consulting physician. We will meet him on 21st May. She is careless about glycaemic food intake.
20th
There is cheer around in BJP, the Congress and Gathbandhans are unhappy. They hope that the results will be different on 23rd, the day of counting. India Today forecast appears to be quite convincing.

14,15,16th May

14th

Visited the office of Sub Registrar and collected a copy each of the two sale deeds of the property. On way back went to Kalkan mandir. Met Dr. Chetan Kapoor too in his dispensary. He is 89. Cannot walk well. Applied for telephone disconnection, reading of the electric metre as on 17.05.19 (date of handing over physical possession of the house) and payment of house and water tax from 2019-20 by the new owner, Mrs Shruti Srivastava w/o Shri Rohit Shrivastava.
Venita visited the otherwise able children home.
Made farewell visits to Advocate Ajay, late Naresh Bhaisaheb's family and Advocate Akhilesh. They treated us with delicious snacks and gifts. Dr.Chetan came and brought gifts . Bhavna Srivastava came with beautiful bouquet of flowers.
15th
For over a week we have one kitchen for us and Shiv Mohan's family. He he had wound up his kitchen and shifted it to the newly rented house. He is still living in our house and will leave on 17th May finally. Late Naresh Bhaisaheb's family came and took some items from the house, such as takhat, small and big tables, tray, some decorative bricks, used by my late father in the ceilings of first floor.
Advocate Digvijay, Advocate Shivji with wife, Kanchan with his daughter and her husband (both are buyers of our property), Advocate Ajay, Principal of otherwise able children with husband came to bid us goodbye. Advocates Ajay,Shivji, Kanchan with his daughter and her son, husband of the Principal of the otherwise able children came upto the railway station to see me and Venita off.

Left for New Delhi at about 0015 hrs on 16th May as the train got delayed by over 1 hour.
Arrived Fatehpur at about 8 am,late by over one hour.

Khyati  passed 12th exams with good marks. Results came yesterday. On seeing the results in the newspapers,we made queries with her parents.
9th
Took Venita to an ENT Specialist for treatment of pain in ears.
Venita went to Vikaspuri to bring Amolikaa's big teddy bear for giving it to 3 year old daughter of the Principal of Otherwise able children School at Fatehpur.We are going there on Sunday next.
Venita will come back to Vikaspuri as her eye tests are scheduled at Center for Sight on Friday at 4 pm.
10th
Venita returned from Vikaspuri.
Took Venita to Centre for Sight for check-up of her eyes.
11th(Saturday)
Attended lecture by Mrs Khosla, a Nutrinist at CSOI in the evening. She advocated a balanced diet. I would like to meet her with Pilku when he comes Delhi next.

Cast our vote. Left for Fatehpur by Prayagraj at 9.20 pm

Arrived Fatehpur at about 5 am.
The Fatehpur property is sold out. After deduction of capital gains tax, the balance will be distributed equally among younger sister Shanno, late elder sister's share to her four children and us.

Met Rekha at Kanpur on way to New Delhi. Admissions are going on in full swing at her school.
Left Kanpur for New Delhi by Swarn Shatabdi express in the afternoon. Arrived Delhi at about 11 pm.
2nd
Returned amount received through RTGS to the Branch Manager Union Bank of India. Ruchi came and had dinner with us. Condition of her father is better. No operation is needed immediately. Will be shifted back home shortly.
3rd
The Branch manager Union bank of India promised to send the balance amount  by Saturday. As there is election at Fatehpur on Monday, the deal could be signed on a later date as convenient to all concerned. It was agreed that all payments have to be done through banking channels only.
4th(Saturday)
Attended 3rd B.S. Das Memorial Lecture, organised under the joint auspices of the Association of Retired Senior IPS Officers(ARSIPSO) and the India International on the subject of 'The Environmental Crisis: The Way Ahead' The lecture was delivered by Dr. Bhure Lal, Chairman of Environment Pollution Control Authority since 1998. Very informative. 
Dr. Prasad is back home. Treatment will continue from home.

Visited ailing Dr Prasad. Talked to him for about an hour.

Ruchi went back London in the morning.

On request by Rohit, husband of Shruti Srivastava and in consultation with Advocate Ajay Srivastava, we planned to go to Fatehpur on Sunday the12th. Will be back on 15th.

Arrived Fatehpur early morning. Advocates Shivji, Ajay and Digvijay called on. Sonu Chauhan and Kanchan dropped in. Kanchan took the measurements of the house. Canvassing for the fourth phase of elections stopped.

Votes were cast for the fourth phase of elections..
Wished Babloo/Neha on their 20th wedding anniversary. They went out to celebrate the day along with Neha's parents in a nearby resort. They stayed there overnight. The Supreme court is closed due to Mahabir Jayanti. Visited the library of The Indian Institute of Public Administration(IIPA) and Venita went to Saloon of the CSOI. She says it is cheaper and service is good.
IIPA has a well equipped library.

Second phase General elections were held today. First phase took place on 11th April. It is a local holiday today.
19th
Venita went to Vikaspuri to join in  Hanuman Jayanti celebration. She organised 'Langar' on the occasion. It is holiday due t o Good Friday.

Bhavna, Principal of local Institute of otherwise able children, came. Venita is assisting the institute with occasional donations and advice. Advocates Digvijay Singh,Shivji came besides Vinay Srivastava, a  relation.

Advocate Shivji came with wife to condole sister's death. An officer of State rural development department,Shri Pandey came along with family and Sangita w/o Vinay Srivastava. Homeopathic doctor Bhayya came.

Venita visited Institute of otherwise able children to gift children and staff. Sangita w/o Vinay came followed by Advocate Akhilesh Srivastava.
2nd
Advocate Shivaji came.
3rd
Visited Kalkan and Tambeshwar temples and did Puja. Advocates Shivaji and Ajay came in the evening.

Advocate Ajay came with family to condole sister's death.

Along with Venita attended 'Terahvi' ceremonies and feast at Kanpur in connection with elder sister's death on March 24/25th night. Neha and Tarun/Sangita also joined in besides her sister Shanno with son Amrish , daughters, Rekha,Vandana,Gita with son Yash and son Arvind/Sapna/grandson Sidh and granddaughter Ria, a host of others, well-wishers, neighbours and Rekha's friends. Local MLA also came. Rekha runs a school in late sister's house at Kanpur. Some relations from her daughter-in-law Sapna's side also came. About 150 people including 13 prodigal  Brahmins took food.
We left for Delhi by Jai Bharat Express in the evening and reached Delhi about midnight.
6th(Saturday
Attended a book release function at CSOI in the evening. The book of former ambassador to Armenia Achal Malhotra, titled 'India-Armenia : So far So close' was released by Armenian ambassador Armen Martirosyan in India. In his release address the ambassador said that his country was growing 4/5 percent. Its per capita  income was $5000.
In his brief speech Shri Malhotra said that first reference of presence of Hindus in Armenia comes as early 149 BC to 415 A.D. They were mostly trading community. They had no political aspiration.
A number of Armenians married to Indians were seen in the audience.
