Diwali is celebrated.
"Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated to honor Rama-chandra, the seventh avatar (incarnation of the god Vishnu). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demons and the demon king, Ravana." From Google
Neha's Rangoli of the day. She does it each Diwali. God bless her.
We had a number of visitors in the night, families, men ,women and children. We shared sweets. Among others were Ved Prakash, Krishnanand, Akhilesh and family, Ajay ,Vinay Prakash and family. Puja had to finish before 7.57 pm.We did not celebrate Diwali this year as we do with plenty of lights every year due to sudden death of Dinesh, Vandana's husband on 15th Oct.this year. Vandana, daughter of our elder sister, stayed in our house since her infancy. She took care of her maternal grandfather, that is, our father, in his old age. Lights were missing this year except splash of some auspicious clay lamps here and there.
