Attended program, organized by Karthikeyan, a batchmat, at India International center in which Dr. BK Chandra Shekhar, an Inspirational Speaker and Expert on Memory and Psycho- Neurobics made a power-point presentation and demonstration on Self-Healing and Health. He is well known as a Neurobic Expert; International Memory Trainer; double Guinness World record holder in Marathon and Speech category; Programme Director Psycho-Neurobics of Tamil Nadu Physical & Sports University; Founder Director of Invisible Doctors Solutions; Author of books on Mind, Memory and Healing Power. Although we could not attend Aman's  show, but we did hear Dr. Chandrashekhar's talk in full. No decision is taken by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to form the Government in Delhi with the support of congress till this date. They have sent sms to their  followers seeking there opinion on the issue. A news report indicates that the majority of people are not in favour of forming the Government with the support of congress..... Due to high level of inflation, the RBI is likely to raise interest rate resulting in costlier loans.
Retired to sleep at 10.30 pm.
19th

8th December

Completed morning program.
The panelists in the Seminar on Crimes against women at the India International Center yesterday were 1.Prof. Susan Viswanathan of JNU, Ms Kirti Singh, Sr, Advocate, Supreme Court of India , Nikhil Kumar IPS (Rtd.), Governor, Kerala and Ms Urvashi Gandhi, Manager-Education, Breakththrough TV and a social entrepreneur. The 'Bell Bajao campaign' launched by Breakththrough TV was appreciated by all. In this, the workers of the NGO go to individual houses. They ring bells in the houses where couples are fighting, register their presence and engage with them. Their presence has had salutary effect in preventing domestic violence in quite a few families and effecting reconciliation.
The analysis of the subject by Shri Nikhil Kumar was enlightening.
BJP won in 3 State Assembly polls and topped in the 4th. While it will form government in the states of MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan,, it does not have numbers in Delhi, short by 4 seats, As no other party is is in a position  to form the government, President's rule may be imposed pending elections in future as soon as possible.
Spent the day reading newspapers and magazine.
Retired to seep at 10 .30 pm.

5th Dec.

Completed morning program. In the Supreme court and chamber from about 2 to  4.45 pm. The lecture of Dr, Jose`Ramos-Horta was not quite impressive. He spoke mainly about his country, Timor-Leste and its economic indicators. Earlier, Timor-Leste was an Indonesian colony. It got liberated in 2002. Late.r Shri Horta talked about 'Asia's Rise or Fall: Challenges and Opportunities in the XXI Century' He said :"Together China, India, Pakistan, Japan, Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the rich Gulf countries, have an unparalleled pool of know-how and financial resources to transform Asia in a prosperous, peaceful and happy region for the 4 billion people that live in the region that spreads from Istanbul to Jakarta, Timor-Leste and the Pacific Islands". He further said to forge partnerships, build bridges and seek common ground for over all development of Asia.Retired to sleep at about 10.30 pm

4th December

Completed morning program. Venita and myself cast vote at the polling booth in Oxford school. Newspaper information said that there would be arrangement to keep mobile phones at booths. There was none. I kept it in the car of a neighbor who had come in car. We had walked over to the booth as the driver had gone to cast vote at Karolbag. He was to return at 11.30 am. We decided rather to walk. There was no arrangement to show the party signal on the screen to me after i cast vote to confirm it as informed by the TOI newspaper. Many promises are made but very often not fulfilled.
Attended D.T. Lakdawala memorial lecture  by Dr. Jos Rmos  Horta, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (1996), of Timor-Leste on "Asia's Rise or Fall : Challenges and opportunities in the XXI Century" at Nehru museum. Shashi Tharoor presided.

3rd Dec.

Left at about 9 am for The Lalit hotel on Tolstoy Marg  in Connaught Place to attend a Seminar on "Emerging Opportunities for Indian Manufacturing Exports in Light of US Unfair Competition Act (UCA)". It mainly related to US Unfair Competition Act (UCA). They invited me as it concerned evaluation of a US law visa-vis Indian law. The discussions centered round piracy of software and intellectual property rights with reference to UCA. One has to be careful while traveling abroad with a laptop. In some international airports, there is a through check of the laptops to find out if any pirated software is used therein. It was informed that in case a pirated software was found, the owner would be detained  for questioning to know its source. It is a long drawn detention and could be quite distressing. The Seminar was organized by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in cooperation with the Assocham.
In the chamber from about 2 to 4,30 pm
Retired to sleep at about 10.15 pm.
