Completed morning program.. Venita went for blood tests. In chamber from 1.30 to 3.30 pm.

News of the day : 1.Tension appears to be dwindling on the line of control. The Pakistan High Commissioner in India has offered to enquire into the beheading episode. The Indian Foreign Minister has said that CBMs will continue.
2.Obama's major initiative to muzzle guns in the context of recent shooting incidents is widely commented. Like his health care  it too has invited mixed responses in USA.
3.Decontrol of diesel prices is being criticized. It will have cascading effect on price index.
4. About 8 million people took a dip at Sangam on 14th Jan, 2013, Makarsankranti day.

"An elephant calf that strayed from its herd is trapped at the bottom of a well near Bundu in the state of Jharkhand in east India. Crowds watch as the baby elephant struggles to find a way out. The calf was eventually rescued using an industrial digger, which broke the sides of the well. Elephants' habitat has been eroded by deforestation.
