Venita organized a get-together of relatves and some of the Society on the eve of 5oth anniversary. After Satyanarain katha, Havan Ahutis were given by all 20 including men, women and children.

Spent the day at  home.

Drrove to Vikaspuri in the evening. Poll surveys show victory to BJP in all the States except Punjab.

Spent the day doing misc. work.

Called on Shri Longkumer, an IPS batchmate, to convey condolances on his elder son's demise a couple of months back as also for his daughter-in-law's death (younger son's wife) about a week back . Longkumer, his wife and widow of his son met.
Visited St. Edmonds school where Pilku, Silku and Babloo completed their matriculation. The principal was out. Met Ms Kabir and told her to inform the principal about my visit.
Met Deputy Commissioner of police, Guwahati. Commissioner of Police was called at Dispur civil Secretariate in the meantime. My appointment with him was at 12.30 pm but i could reach his office at about 2 pm only due to to visit to Longkumer. The office room of the Commissioner is done up quite well. I used to sit here from 1977 to 1980 as SP Kamrup. It became Police Commissionerate last year.
Returned Delhi by Jet Connect at about 7.45 pm.

Attended meeting of the State Security Commission. Peter Haneman invited for dinner. Met Advocte Atiar there.
5th
Boarded Jet Connect for Guwahati at 9.50 am. At Guwahati met widow of late Justice Dr BP Saraf and their son Dr. Ashok Saraf, Sr Advocate. Venita had sent a gift for Ashok's daughter who got married a couple of months back. We could not attend it. Reached Shillong at about 5 pm by road. Helicopter journey is risky. Dr SB Singh, DGP i/c met.

Did abhisheka in an old Shiva temple at Kurukshetra. It is said that Arjun worshipped here after victory in Mahabharat war.
Called on widow of  batchmate, Late Sahajram Sharma along with another batchmate, Basant Singh Verma and his wife. Sahajram died last year. All of us had lunch at Chandigarh Golf club.

Attended wedding of Pravesh's son at Chandigarh along with Venita. In the photograph below can be seen Pravesh's son, Sarthak along with us :
