Completed morning program. Khyatis's birthday is celebrated today. She was born on Ashtami of Aswin's Adhik Mas (Dwatiya), Krishnapaksh, Wednesday, Vkram Samvat 2058/Shak Samvat 1923 of the Hindi Panchang corresponding to 10th October, 2001 of Gregorian calender at 12.10 pm in a Vasant Vihar hospital, New Delhi..We bless her for happy and bright life

She enters crucial years of her life from 14 to 19. The parents have to guide her. They have to adopt innovative ways so that she listens them and follows their advice..

Attended Khyati's birthday celebrations at Gurgaon along with Venita. A number of her friends and relations attended. She lit 14 candles on top of a wall of the basement climbing it with the help of steel stairs and cutting the cake thereafter to the singing of happy birthday to her each time, once at the end of kindling of candles and thereafter at the time of cutting of the cake.

Completed morning program. Babloo came with Neha and Akshat. According to Indian calender, Venita was born on Vijayadashmi,that is, yesterday. According to Gregorian calender,she was born on 11th Oct.1948. Karvachauth falls on 11th Oct. As she keeps fast on the day praying for long life of her husband,we decided to celebrate her birthday today. Amolikaa,our 10 year old British granddaughter, rang up from London. I asked her whether she would observe Karvachauth after marriage. She said "Yes". I was pleased to hear that. She is aligned to her roots and traditions.
Venita scored double six on Vijayadashmi day. With 8 and 75.

All of us went out for a sumptuous lunch at a nearby hotel and spent over two hours there together. Babloo,Neha and Akshat went back Gurgaon in the evening.

Completed morning program. Venita spent a good deal of time early morning celebrating Vijayadashmi in the temple. She remembered her father early morning. She said that he used to take all his children out to show Neelkanth, a bird with blue throat, on the day.It is akin to Shiva Darshan. It is believed that Shiva had taken poison that had come out after churning of the Ocean in the beginning of the universe and kept it in his throat. His throat had become blue due to it. He is known as Nilkantha. He did it to protect all against its devastating effect.
