Lord Justice Taylor judicial inquiry found failure of police control in Hillsborough stadium disaster in April 1989 when 95 football fans were crushed to death. The 28 year campaign for justice was carried on by victims' families. New inquest concluded on April 28 2016 found that football fans were unlawfully killed. On June 28, 2017 the Chief Superintendent of police, match Commander, former Yorkshire Police Chief Constable and four others are charged with offences relating to the disaster. Victims' families felt : 'this was the real beginning of the end.'
